Getting awfully sick of the bloody snow. Anyone who thinks its lovely to look at has probaly never shovelled 300 cm of it in a month. Two years ago we set a record for yearly snowfall , we are heading for another record, as are on pace to eclipse the old one. Anyone want to trade places , perferably someone from the Carolina's ,Florida , etc... If it keeps up my back will be gone , just like my shoulders and arms already are. HELP!!!

Only -26 wind chill -37 last night.....longest cold snap on record and not going to change in the next couple of days........

On second thought I think I'll stay put.....but Sunny look at the bright side it could always be worse, just look at Austalia this week.....Hot dry and fires all over the place!!!
 
Comew to Elliot Lake, we got maybe less than 8 inches of snow this year. (touch Wood) we are going to ronto this weekend to get away from the cold snap.

Hey you want a tropical heat wave...take a beer into the cooler, sit on a lawn chair and soak up the heat in there. ;)
 
At least its not snowing today only very windy , lot has been plowed twice today and is almost filled in again , have seen 4 accidents so far , Trans Canada Highway is closed about 20 miles away , two big accidents on it , one an 8 car pile up and the other with a transport trailer and two cars , ambulance for the injured is off the road and stuck. More snow forecast for tonight and Friday , wish I could afford to stay home.
 
Nail 'er down thar Sunny, thars 'a nuther one comin'. Can you f***ing believe it, another 25-30 cms of that friggin' white stuff!!!!!!!! Hey, Sunny, you know if we dug out some snow houses and grew some weed they'd never find it.............
 
Greenhouse were dug out til the last snow, didn't have the energy to do it the third time in 5 days , guess what I'll be doing Saterday and Sunday , if I had a crop in there , they would have dried out by now. Lost one side of my sign in the wind the other day, wish I could run away!!
 
Ya know...."some" of us, WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE some SNOW !!:eek:

Lowest lake levels in years, no snow cover, NONE, on the ground to insulate plants, and pipes...

Say 4 water main breaks here in town, yesterday alone....

just send along lots of those dead presidents; because more freight comes into Newfoundland than is shipped out by ground we can hire a fleet of reefers to have all the snow you want on your doorstep at your whim! Hey, we'll even throw in some wire orders to boot; no wait, we won't even discount them!!!

You should send down all those lake boats to load up during the winter and when they get back to the lakes in the spring you'll have lots of water. Boss , I've got a shovel with your name on it , anytime you want to come and fill up a container with snow . Please come on the next available flight , need all the help I can get, especially as I'm still not supposed to do any heavy work. If I listened to the Doctors I wouldn't be seen til April or May. Hmmm sounds good.
 
Ah well, here we are again; Friday afternoon, closed 1 PM, was lucky to find the van when we went outside!! Third day or part day closed in a week!!! Did I say SNOW SUCKS? Hey Boss, hurry and send us an order for some snow!! Just don't send it on the merc!! Next week it's gonna be Spring!! 2 to 6 degrees (Canadian) and RAIN!!!!!!! Unfortunately it would take 40 days and nights of rain to get rid of this snow!!!

At least you don't have a "MEL" to call out the armed forces on your behalf and help clear the stuff.
The frigid cold here has left us with early closings as well, but, only from the lack of continuous customers to warrant staying open. We get a rush every morning, then it dies, and we shut 'er down....not worth the HYDRO costs...

Did I say SNOW SUCKS? Just now they've declared it a hurricane! Cannot see a thing out our front window except for the snowdrifts up to the window and the future snowdrifts blowing by! Supposed to end over night so we can dig out tomorrow, whoopee!!! ****, shoulda moved to TO, Mel woulda had us dug out by now,NOT! I think this would be up around the restaurant in the CN Tower by now.
 
Saw the news last night. Seems you guys are getting hit harder this year than last year and it isnt finish yet. I feel for you and I hope it will stop soon.
On the brighter side..... Lots of water for those potatoes....

We lived through another winter blast , according to the news this morning 47 cm. or 2 feet for our American friends. Another 20 expected monday mixed with rain , lost a greenhouse , collapsed under the weight of the snow. Lost the plastic off one greenhouse in December had to cut it off to save the structure , I have been up and shovelling since 4am , just got in to work at 10, roads are barely plowed , all highways are closed , almost a disaster area , only saving grace was the power didn't go out last night. Is there enough army left to call in to help or are they saving it for when the golden horseshoe gets 5-10 cm.

we've been watching your h**l through the eyes of the news reports,and KNOW that what we're seeing, and what really is, is two different things!!
I KNOW you are angry and fed up...don't take it out on the "Golden Horseshoe"....people around here wouldn't survivie what YOU are gonna survive...such suck asses around here!!
Just keep us posted, so we don't lose you!!
At some point, we MAY have to send in the military!!

Sure wish some of it would work a little westward and hit us first. Although snowmobile season and the Yahoo's are here, the trails are getting a little rough. We've actually only had a little over foot and a half total. But those Massachusetts and New Jersey boys will ride 100 mph on a dusting.
We'll take what we can. Better than this darned 10 below with 30 mph winds. Missing us and hitting you guys.
Balmy here today, all of 15 but no wind. Headed back to the deep freeze again on Monday though. Genista came in today, Wonderful "breath of spring".
