Went to the ER today. Definately not the way I like to spend the better part of the afternoon.

Right foot is swollen and can't bear weight although there is no bruising or known injury. Doc says it is plantar facaitis (sp?). Seems to be a glorified name for a fallen arch. Have to stay off of it for a couple days. The prescription seems to ensure that will happen - I fall sound asleep about 20 minutes after I take it and sleep for three hours. Since I take it every four hours, my "committment to the couch" is guaranteed.

Crutches at work on Monday and Tuesday. Yea - I'll get right on that. :faint:

Hey Barb- really sorry to hear this. Did you have problems during Mothers Day? We were very busy these past two weeks , that's why I haven't dropped in to visit. I miss you guys! Too bad I don't have a day off this week ( other designer on vacation) or I would volunteer to come in and help you all. Take care of that foot. Band camp will be here before you know it!!! Love to all my Flower Cart buddies. Linda

Oh nooooo, I've had that and it hurts!! You should maybe look up stretching exercises online (Google "plantar fasciitis" + exercises). I did the stretches and ice for a couple of months and seem to have cured it for now. Also, you will want to wear only shoes with good arch support for awhile, and preferably forever.

Feel better soon!

Oooo, ouch! Hubby has that, though it's never landed him in the hospital. Orthotic arches it is, helps for sure, as does the stretching.'

Take the couch opportunity to have some YOU time, make people bring you ice cream, and flowers of course!

feel better :)

Bless your heart-- and your foot! If a medication has even a slight change of causing sleepiness, it puts me right to sleep. Even taking 2 Aleve will do it!

Rest lots and get well soon. Know that we're all thinking of you and praying for you.

Got it here, too....New balance sneakers and spenco arch supports keep it at bay and then a healthy dose of nortryptilene sp? from the doctor really helped....I put off getting the script for 10 years with just the good shoes and archsupports...now I am on a script and headed for special made shoe....Maybe after I have gastric bypass surgery and lose half of my self I won't need anything but the supports again....I still suffer at the holidays...I find that sweeping my garbage pile up several times a day helps...Standing on piles of stems no good for plantar fasciaitis...Hang in there you will find what works for you..

Oh Barb... ouch. It seems to be common amongst those who spend a lot of time on their feet. I invested in a really good pair of New Balance shoes. My doctor recommended them as I can't afford orthotics.

Take care of you.
