Today is a sad day as it is the 7th Anniversary of the attack on the United States of America by the Al Qaeda Terrorists in New York City, the Pentagon, and the brave souls on Flight 93, which crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Take a moment in silent prayer to remember all of those innocent souls which were lost as well as the family members they left behind.

Thank you TOTO, just thank you so much!

Amen,
Dave

Amen Toto - Thank You.

Honestly I don't see how anyone could forget 9-11, those feelings are still there. The raw emotion of what we all witnessed is in our hearts. We must never forget 9-11 because it changed all of our lives forever.

Thanks for taking the time TOTO to post.

Every anniversary brings back the flood of anxiety and sadness felt that day ... I don't think that will change in my lifetime.

God Bless them all.

Very Moving Memorial Ceremonies

Just finished watching the three 911 memorial services held in New York City, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pa.

They were all very emotional and moving.

The Memorial for the victims at the Pentagon is exceptional.

Each person who died in that tragedy, either on the ground, or from the air, has their own individual memorial bench which will allow their own surviving family members to visit, and in order to pay their respects.

The design's attention to detail is amazing as the benches start from the youngest three year child to the oldest adult.

As always, the ceremonies bring tears to our eyes, especially when we watch as their Wives, Husbands, Children, and other family members announce the names of their loved one, and speak of their own special memories they hold dear in their heart.

One father thanked his son for giving him the best 29 years of his life!

I just can't imagine having to carry the grief of the loss of your own son or daughter around, and for the rest of your life.

That weight must surely be unbearable!

God Bless them all and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Just cant begin to imagine. I know there were some brits who died in this awful tradgedy as well (not that it matters btw). It just shows the global effect this had.

I pray for all the families who lost someone and admire those on the plane who fought them to try to save everyone.

Thanks toto, for this thread. It makes you realise just how short life can be and how lucky we are....

of course it matters, Paula. I can remember everything that was going on that morning and my prayers are with all the families who suffered because of those psycho criminals. :(

This link gives the list of names of the poor souls who perished at the World Trade Center from the United Kingdom.

I'm sure there were other Brits too, either on those planes, or at the Pentagon.

If you have time, try to give us the total and post it when you have the time.

Oh sorry i meant it doesnt matter where they came from in the sense that a life is a life. I hope that did not come accross badly. I remember it so well as i had just had my daughter and was laid up on the sofa. At first i thought the it was part of a film, took a while to sink in what was going on. It was the worst day ever!! Puts things in perspective for sure. toto will defo check out that link.

just had a look at the link. Lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. It is so nice that the website has been made and some people have put some lovely comments. I hope the families read these and it may bring some comfort...

Paula just didn't want you to think any of us forgot the brits. Even after it all happened your country was supportive. :squish:

And TOTO would be more than happy to take a PUB TOUR with any of them and at anytime of their choosing!

Bring on those BANGORS and MASH and FISH and CHIPS along with a few PINTS of great British Ale, and TOTO's GOOD TO GO!

Might need a little help getting up off the floor, but then again, THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR!
lol

Disney World is a FANTASTIC PLACE for KIDS (of all ages)

We made eight trips when our young men were young. Personally, it was my favorite place to spend a family vacation.

The place is HUGE now, and one would need to spend at least ONE WEEK just to give their DISNEY WORLD vacation justice.

We would spend our first week, outside of DISNEY WORLD in KISSIMMEE just to visit all the other great places Orlando has to see, including SEA WORLD and UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.

We would rent a Townhouse or Condo in either Orlando or Kissemee for the first week, and then, stay at a DISNEY RESORT for the second week. Our favorite was the Polynesian Resort.

Of course, they have so many other much more affordable Hotels on Disney Property, or you could just stay outside for the entire visit.

If you get up towards New York City, we'll give you the tour of Manhattan, especially all of the Irish and British Pubs, as well as a visit to my favorite authentic fish and chips place, A SALT and BATTERY.

HOLD ONTO YOUR HIPS GIRL! Meantime, I'll start putting a few pounds away to help pay for your pints!
lol

Toto...the day our "world" changed forever....most people can remember the day, that no one could believe would EVER occur.
I can remember the overwhelming grief and shock as panic struck citizens ran away from the towers, didn't hear it coming, at the pentagon, and decided to take it upon themselves, on Flight 93.
In each case, brave service people RUSHED INTO the heat, and danger, to make ALL attempts at saving a life, not once. fearing for their own, both on the ground, and in the air.
