you can say all that stuff, but it will not make any difference to them why you are quitting. Mine was about 3 sentences long. :)

I quit, here's the date and send me my $200 security deposit, which by the way which I am still waiting (quit in July) - now promised to be here by end of this week. OKKKKKKKK

I did this same thing with bloomnet and got responses from the higher ups saying that they scathing unprofessional letters or letters that state that they are just leaving and that it doesn't help them to know why people are leaving so whether they listen or not I like to state in a professional manner why, maybe if more people did this the state of our industry wouldn't be the way it is...maybe it would, but I am very big on communication and feel that if you don't say what is on your mind you will for certain never get what you need, but if your throw it out there there is a possiblity of making a difference...no harm no foul if noone listened, but you are never left thinking maybe I should have said something...

By the time I quit I had sent so many letters and had so many conversations with anyone at TF that would listen, I felt no need to say more. However, when I quit FTD, which I had been with much longer, I did give them my reasons. They didn't care either. Still, if it makes you feel better to explain, it's a good letter and maybe it won't fall on deaf ears.

they have enough market research guys to get the feeling. I would just state that you are quitting, when you want it effective from and that you would like any monies owed effective immediately. Dont give them any feedback unless they want it and they dont.

Well done for getting your cash flow back, you wont believe the difference!!

The only thing I noticed was the date, which should be April 2011.

And you used the wrong form of "do" in the last paragraph

It should be "Due to the rules and regulations...."

Other then that, it's great! :)

I say...SEND IT. They won't care because they will just sign up someone else who will fall for their company line. I know the letter will make you feel better to get it all out there, but ultimately the owner will never see it. Sometimes it is nice to just vent. Flowerchat gives me the opportunity to put in my two cents when I feel I need to. I enjoy reading other issues related to the floral industry other than the wire service. There is so much more about who we are as Professional Florist people. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I agree. That's why they pay people like Nicole to be on FC to do market research.
K.I.S.S. applies here.
AFAICT Nicole has not visited FC since mid November. :( Her new position with TF has her involved with emerging media and marketing via mobile phones.

Lori - I can understand your frustration yet IMO your letter is a bit too general (big guys vs little guys) to resonate with the staff at TF. I put lots of stuff in writing over the years, but our resignation letter was brief and to the point. i.e. 'Effective (date) we resign as members.... please terminate our Dove, etc.....'

Make sure you send the letter to the proper address (which I believe is in Arkansas - or at least it was a few years ago).

Thank Cathy...I have two addresses, one for directory and one for dove cancellation..I have to call the POs people and see if they also need a letter sent to their address...

Too bad there is no actual address because i would..I sent an email of my resignation to the McCann's at bloomnet...

don't forget to send them certified with a return receipt requested.

Yup...certified with return receit, followed up by email to all heads of departments and owners if I can get it...I use the CYA method on these types of things, it may be overkill, but when a question comes up, I have enough documentation that I rarely have any issues...learned the hard way..

Lori, please don't misunderstand.
You "sound" as if you have regrets about leaving, you spend too much time explaining why!!
To be honest, whatever you've been told about cold hard termination letters, is bullpiss........
You have "CHOSEN" not to subscribe to their services any longer, as of the dates given, and have NO NEED to tell them a "story"...that is for "clingers".....sorry, that's the way I "read" it!!
Basically, set the title, let them know you're leaving, let them "know" that could, AND might consider re-joining at some later date, when THEIR businesses AND practices, are MORE in tune with YOURS, and YOUR budget allotment, and leave it at that!!
Send the letters, REGISTERED, and "signature required", request an immediate response "acknowledging" the letter, then FAX the SAME letter to membership, THEN, wait ONE day, and "courier" your" resignation to membership, overnight...Mark it "Important Document Enclosed" send it to VP of your area..forget the field reps!!
Then, just DO IT....git 'er done!
