Seems kind of silly to be doing this since may wife and I just signed a sales agreement on our store last night. We have been in the floral and gift business since 1983. Our store orginally was started in 1945. I started as an extra income, but became needing a second income to survive.
The business has been a struggle without experienced help. I belive since day one we were looking for designers. Just like the shoe repairman, they are a dying breed.
I really hurts to not be able to answer the phone all the time. Taking it off the hook just to be able to keep up with orders was all we could do. Again, one or two more designers would have REALLY helped.
Lets hope the new kids taking over can find someone.
The business is their if you have the help and you do a quality job.
Good luck to all the future florist. It gets in your blood and when you go anywhere you are always in the florist mode.
