Mark (BOSS) I was going to address this invitation to you, but I decided to invite any who might want to and be able to come. But for sure this is a personal invitation from Neal and I to You and Sherry. If you or anyone does indeed attend and want to find us our cell numbers are - Neal 248-495-1004 and Patty 248-495-1005. We will be there from Friday 2pm until late Sunday night after clean-up. I will be in the kitchen where the meal will be served - doing my thing much of the time Sunday and Neal will be involved in the games and blocking for the ride that day and other things.

There will be vendors there also and even though it is advertised as a free event I was told they will be charging 50 cents for bottles of water. We are trying to get them to not charge anything like last year, but have not heard back yet. I don't like advertising something as free and then having people show up and find out they have to pay for bottled water. There's free water and lemonade in the kitchen/bathroom building all day though.

If anyone does attend please call us so we can say hi.

Thanks for the invite Patty (and Neal too), but alas I must decline. That's the weekend of our oldest daughters graduation party and we have family coming in from several states, as far away as Florida.

Some are staying for 12 days :hammer:

I was in Washington in May for the Freedom of Hope ride by a whole bunch of motorcyclist.
I was neat to see all those bikes in a parade.
Washington had streets blocked off to do this parade and it was nice ot see all the poeple lined up.
THey had a reception/music entertainement at one of the monuments.
Alas...I forgot my three wheeler to participate.

On Saturday the day before our Biker Sunday there is a huge Breast cancer ride that H-I-M helps by blocking for. We gather about 60 of our guys and do all the blocking. It's a big job. It's a 25 mile ride with about a mile and a half's worth of bike's side by side when stopped. My husband is a road captain so will be helping block that day.

You know, some people just don't think - last year we were blocking an intersection at a light and a guy in a truck kept yelling things out the window at the blocker. Road Captains are well trained and know how to block, right? So this guy gets out of his truck and proceeds to tell the blocker that he can't do that. The blocker replies to the guy, "Well, the state police at the beginning and at the end of this line tell me I do". The guy changed his tune a bit and got back in his car. Now tell me, you can see bikers as far as you can see in both directions and you are going to get out of your car and start something. Some people just don't think! LOL

Hey Mark, yes 'tis the season for grads, my nephew's daughter is graduating in Ballston Spa, New York and I sure wish I could go. She's the first of my niece's and nephew's kids to graduate with many more to follow. Just wanted to make sure to invite you. Sounds like you're going to have a great time!

Hey tantalyzing, isn't the Blue Angels the cops MC? We ran into some Blue Angels at a restaurant one morning when we went to Florida via the Skyline Drive and Blueridge Parkway one year. They came up to us and we talked awhile. I think all bikers know how that is - it's just a thing that always happens when you're out and about and dressed like a biker. Personally I haven't gone anywhere without my vest on in over five years. They were really nice guys. It was in Front Royal, VA. where the Skyline Drive starts.

Stoopid is as stoopid does ;)

Bikers....Hmmm....

Thanks Patty it is much appreciated, and thanks for understanding.

Lol, no they are not cops, but we do hear that all of the time. Their clubhouse is actually not far from your store in Hazel Park. It is at 7 Mile and Dequindre.

My husband and I were at Harleyfest last night and there was a H-I-M tent being taken down. Were you there also? I was going to say hello to you, but I didn't see anyone that looked like your pic.

No I wasn't there. My husband was there until very late along with quite a few others from H-I-M who were helping. Actually we made a deal with WRIF and the Rainbow Connection (the one that helps make kids dreams come true) to volunteer our services working all day from opening until closing in the ticket booth for a H-I-M booth for free and a spot on WRIF to promote our Biker Sunday June 24th.

My husband was in the ticket booth (actually more like a small aluminum walled room) along with a couple other guys from 4-11pm. There was a H-I-M booth also and it was manned by one faithful couple from H-I-M who always serve in our booths at various events.

If you bought any tickets for food or beverages you could not have missed my husband. 6" 5" and big and bald with sunglasses on. I guess yesterday that was a common look now that I think about it. But not in that booth. The other two guys are very short and small, but both the others are bald. My husband has a gorgeous full head of hair - brown and wavy and very "pretty" (don't tell him I said his hair is pretty - he has informed me that bikers don't have "pretty" hair LOL) but chooses to shave his head. He had long hair down his back (for me mostly) for many years and once he started shaving it about a year ago the rest is history. Some guys would give anything to have his hair and he shaves it - go figure.

I am saving my energy for next week at Biker Sunday. My MS has caused my legs to become weaker and I have a really bad right hip and left knee that are really giving me a run for my money these days. I can't even grocery shop anymore without using their mobility cart. With all that together I have had to start using a cane and on Biker Sunday weekend I got my brother's mobility cart running (just needed new batteries) to use to get around. When I found out how many of our people were there last night I wished I would have put my cart in the van and went also. Maybe next time! I am not complaining though. I have gone 17 years now with MS with no flare-ups and no need for walking aids and able to work a full week and then some so to me it's a huge blessing. With Neal recently being disgnosed with MS also I am amazed how much he keeps going and going - he really gives his all to serve and I admire him for that. So many in ministries don't do anything and they use all kinds of excuses.

So the Blue Angels around here are not cops, huh? I haven't seen their headquarters as I rarely go below 8 mile unless passing through Detroit on the expressway or when Neal and I are just driving around and we go into his old neighborhood where he grew up at John R and Nevada. Yes, Neal married a suburb girl - LOL.

My husband does have a couple of cops in his club, but they are not a club of cops. The only ones I personally know of that are cop clubs around here are the Warthogs and the Blue Knights, but like I say, a lot of people come up to them and ask them if they are all cops.

I did not see your anyone at any of the ticket booths like you described, but my husband was really the one getting the tickets and drinks for us that day.

I am sorry to hear about the fact that you and your husband both have MS. That has to be difficult on you, especially being on your feet all day.
