I would like to send invitations to many shops to join FlowerChat. Two questions:
(1) What message would you include on the invitations?
(2) I have a long, long list of e-mail addresses. Is there a way I can send the message to more than 3 recipients at the same time?

I like Joe's suggestion about networking with your floral peers. I use that line now on my outgoing wires in the Special instructions area. If you use your regular e-mail, you should be able to make a long list separated by semicolons I think. Not sure about the invite area on here what the limits are.
See you wednesday!

Dianne -

Near the top of your UserCP page (linked at top navigation on the left) is a link to invite new users to the board. You can enter up to three email addresses at a time and add your own message.

I tested it on one of my email addresses about 30 minutes ago and the mail showed up in my spam filter. You might want to try a test first yourself.

Another alternative is to send an email on your own and include your personal FC referral link.

Make sure to include your your FC nick in your mail so friends can find you once they log in.

Are we going to need to create a Jersey sub-forum. ;) Thanks for letting more florists know about FC.

Cathy & Tracy,

Thanks for posting your thoughts. It would be far easier for me to just send an e-mail rather than use the link to invite new members. I was surprised that the link only allows three "friends" to be invited at a time. OK...Cathy...where do I find my personal referrer link to copy into the message?

Here's a copy of the text I am planning to send. Please let me know your thoughts...what you would add or delete to the message:

Dear Fellow Florist,

Do you know there is a forum for networking with your floral peers? The
forum is FlowerChat and it is a community of florists sharing information
about our industry.

The forums include topics on business, technology, and special features
include Florist & Vendor Directory, The Real Florists Blog & The FlowerChat
Gallery-where members contribute images of their floral designs. There is
even an Arcade of great games to play!

Check out FlowerChat...it's a great place for florists to share ideas! Once
you have created your account, you will be able to view the entire free
discussion board and post your comments and replies.

My username is NavyBrat and I have been a member since August 2005! Hope to see you at FlowerChat soon!

Cathy-LOL...get ready for the NJ invasion!

Tracy-I did get "your line" in the message. Looking forward to finally meeting you at the Pennock show on Tuesday? Should I bring some pie?????

Dianne - I think your intro looks great - the only thing I would change is the wording "once you create your account" to "once you create your profile" or some word that's not automatically associated with money. I know we have a donation effort going on, but as cynical as florists are ...... well being from Jersey and all, I would see the word "account" and assume you were looking for my credit card.
Just a thought. See you wed, don't chicken out like last time (kidding). Actually I prefer cake, but pie is fine!:bdaypig:

Simply refrencing the FREE Registration might be all you need....

I sent the invitation to approximately 100 florists and see from the Referrer Statistics that 7 new members registered. I e-mailed the message on 11/11. This was the final draft of the invitation:

You go! Great idea, and hopefully your mail blast will gain some new chatters with even more insight than we already have here. You zipped right by me in referrals - that deserves a bump my dear. :)
