Irene,,, ya biatch....

I will be battening down the hatches this evening..taking in any loose backyard chairs pool toys, chair cushions etc....We see the beach from my house but fortunately we are on a steep hill so flooding is never an issue for us, but winds can rock my house...3story 150year old house this thing sways like the wind...will be getting my cell phone completely charged...Hoping everyone else is safe..

Irene is one of the biggest storms in recent memory, and worse still, there is NO WAY of knowing which way she's heading!!
Everyone be safe, have some supplies handy, be smart, and when she passes, sing "Goodnight Irene"!!

Well she's come and gone by us, hope she falls apart before she gets to all of ya'll.
Here's the florida hurricane party check list:
water
beer
wine
chips
beer
wine
batteries
fill gas in grill (so you can cook everything that will go bad in your freezer) (eat the icecream first!)
beer
oh and wine
All the beer and wine helps keep you from being bored when there is no power and no ac.
Best wishes from your friends in Florida!

Have storm warnings issued here mostly for heavy rain and some winds around 50 or so. My only worry is my brand new camper sitting under 50-60' pine trees down state where they're supposed to get 2 - 5" rain and heavier winds.. oh well, it's heavily insured... Supposed to hit just to the west of us on it's way to Quebec (maybe) mostly Sunday into Monday a.m.

three pick-ups this AM then closing to deliver corp accts--
used tropicals this week (ha ha) so we could get them out a day earlier and they are sturdy
all loose stuff in the house/store--basement has a pump--as long as we have power!!
God be with us as we ride this one out
Last storm in old shop--lost all Christmas stored in bins--water cane up from ground!
In this store--mostly glassware stored in basement--no we worry about power and oils burner flooding!
Prayers for the East Coast PLEASE!!
