Iris Corsage

I have, and it was a disaster. Lasted about 2 hours.
However, after trying Ricky's trick with tulips, and being amazed 3 days later, why not do a test and see if it works on iris?

Mix 1/2 water and 1/2 Elmers glue, and dip the fower in the mixture. then assemble corsage. (If using the wire and tape method, do that first.)Allow to dry thoroughly before packaging.
Who knows, maybe it works on iris also.

I've made them by wiring like an orchid (cross) and using either a corsage stem - (large one) or wettened cotton ball and taped. Cushioned the back with fluffy green like ming fern bending the iris out slightly away from the back of the corsage so it doesn't flatten against shoulder or chest. We used open Iris. Did them for Easter for many years. Never had a problem with them but have warned against "hugging" and contact.

I appreciate you using the elmers glue and water tip............but I cannot take credit for originating that idea.......I actually got that from another AIFD member....Kathi Thomas AIFD. She used that technique for tulip bouts for an August wedding in the Texas desert heat.
