THe hurricanne is so wobbly and that little tag is not doing much to keep it in check. This I can live with.
It's the berries that are giving me problems. If you wet the berries and keep them wet an put them in the fridge, they fall apart.
So beware on how wet you keep them.

As for Frosty, I have 2 left and for the tree, I had 5 got three more coming, first 5 are sold out.

That hurricane is a mess-uggggly to start with and wobbly as can be- using florist clay to hold it steady for delivery. Additionally I was double shipped and now have 48 pieces- got to go away!

A few problems with the hurricanes, but so far so good. Almost sold out of them! We ordered 18 KincaidTrees..... almost sold out. Sold the rest of our Frosty's today for a party. Taking him & setting him in the center of an Oasis ring of flowers & foliage & filling him with candy & cookies. The centerpieces are raffled at the end of the dinner.

The Waterford is a tough sell. Thank goodness we only ordered the minimum.

at least everyone got their containters - i split with 3 other shops and we still till this day have not gotten anything.

No loss anyhow - nobody has asked about these arrangements and we are just selling what we had left over from last year.

I am pretty much done buying into these stupid containers - when i can go to the dollar store and pick up teleflora and ftd containers for $1-$2 ea.

just picked up 30 of the painted bowls from valentines last year !

Hmmm...

Don't know what my girls have done, but they complained about the Hurricanes too. I know they came up with something b/c they didn't ask for my help :)

As of now, Sold out of Frosty, 1 Waterford bowl (out of 12) left, 6 Wysock sleighs (out of 24), Sold out 2x of those stupid little mini-me-ornaments (re-ordered last week when TEL still had them, now they're gone too), 15 Kin hurricanes to go (out of 72).

HAVE YOU GUYS had any complaints that the Kin. hurricane house didn't light up??? So far we have had 4... just wondering.

Oh, FTD stuff moving WELL as well, that goofy sleigh is a hit - sold out, and having my FTD rep 2nd day air 24 of them to me. If those go, that will be 72 of those suckers.... C1 so-so. Still have 24/48 left.... BUT we have a week to go!!!

HEY!!! Another thing - POINSETTIAS moving FAST this year!!! Like we're UP 28% on Point sales so far!!! I suppose they are coming back in popularity...

Here's to good selling!

Kincade hurricane lamp is a horrible fit for the base.

Bright side I sold out Saturday and could have sold 7 more since Sat.

Sleigh sales are terrible. sold 2 of the Waterford.

I haven't bought any FTD stuff in four years....correction, field rep sold me some of those stupid ornaments two years ago. sold one of them in '03 gave two away.

Retail sales of poinsettias doing very well. Wholesale side could be a bit better.

Artificial stuff have sold very well.

Man, have we *ever* had complaints about it not lighting up. We sold out of the trees, sold out of Frosty, we have 12 hurricane left. Our FTD is moving really well, we still have a lot of C1 but they'll go next week. We've sold a ton of poinsettias and planters this season but the real surprise has been the amount of giftware we've sold.

Mark-Lucky you! Makes me absolutely crazy to keep count of these items so I know when we are sold out of one of the TF containers.
Frosty is the bit hit of the season at my shop-customers bought them 5 at a time for gifts...Sold out and wish I had ordered more. Oh soooo easy to make and sell!
Just a note on the Kinkade Hurricane-to stabilize for delivery, I took a large rubber band and wrapped it around the piece and up and over the globe. Works really well.
All items from TF sold well, but we only have limited amounts of each item. Our biggest seller is always our customized centerpieces.

Not to start trouble....

But it might be very interesting to see, for those of you that have sold alot of codified product, as to how many went on INcoming orders as opposed to local customers...

Anyone care to share....Herb????

...quite honestly, I don't have real numbers now (too bi$$y) BUT, I would say 40% wire ins, 60% customers - and thats a REAL guess...

Could be more to the customer side, since we put some of the specials in our c-mas brochure from JH...AND, now that TEL products are on our FTD site, they have moved more online than in the past...

MY issue is NOW that we are selling out of some specials, and Wire INS are coming in with NOOO 2nd choices! Dumb...
2nd choices should default to OPEN ORDER status if no 2nd choice is given, IMHO...just might make that MY policy on the 23rd!

Good thought, there BOSS-man...

BOSS, once challenged to do the numbers by folks here at flowerchat I was sickened when I discovered how much work we were doing for pennies. Large percentage of those holiday container arrangements were for wire ins and the busyness we felt (and were addicted to) during various holidays was a huge unproductive waste of money and energy.

This will be our third Christmas with purchasing NO containers whatsoever. A nearby florist that was going out of business had great older Christmas containers for sale and we bought a lot of those form her for $2.00 each (including shipping HAHA of which there was none) and I bought some various cute other Christmas dishware very reasonable that we feature as OUR specials.

Since we stopped buying the Christmas containers our wire ins in December dropped significantly so now we are not spinning our wheels in busyness that at one time appeared to us to look like productivity. HUGE difference between busyness and business!
