Is he kidding? Olympic spirit aftermath.

Sour grapes Joanne. He apparently issued a half hearted apology. There is quite an e-mail campaign to advertisers etc. He's a nitwit.

For the first time in my memory Canada has become a nation of flag wavers... I'm proud of that. :)

well, cause CBC didn't have the broadcast I don't know what happened on Canadian TV for the first time in a great many olympics but.. I knew about the "Own the Podium" program way before hand and am glad that the athletes lived up to the program. For once (well, maybe) our NBC coverage did cover some of the games that didn't showcase US athletes (well, I take that back, maybe a couple .. Nordic events)
But I thought Vancouver did a wonderful job? Maybe because the Today Show broadcast from there everyday that there was a great group of diverse countries at their airing? I do think that "hoarding" of tickets would cause a problem with the Olympic head honchos though, wouldn't you? Bravo My Friends to the North.......... I salute a wonderful Olympics (I'm just a watcher on TV LOL)

Rhonda, this time CTV covered the games. They did an awesome job. I have no idea who this guy was watching but CTV covered all the contenders really well. Our commentators were supportive of all the great efforts of the atheletes, no matter their origin. I guess he didn't watch the closing ceremonies either as there was a minutes silence for the Georgian athelete. As well, had he watched, he would have seen the entire stadium give a standing ovation to the Georgian team as they entered.

I wonder if he was even aware that NBC wasn't even going to cover the hockey game on the main network... public outcry changed that.

The "Own the Podium" programme took some heat as some thought it wasn't "very Canadian". Whatever.

It was a wonderful Olympics and TV sucks now that they're over... nothing really worth watching. ;)
