My day started off as it usually would..

Then it started..

.. I got a call from a lady that just received her roses from us. She said the roses were absolutely beautiful. But started ranting about something else. She was talking a mile a minute, and wouldn't let me get a word in. The phone call finished a few minutes later, and I still didn't have a clue what she was complaining about.. She had mentioned that I was supposed to call her and the sender the morning that the roses were supposed to be delivered.. Um.. What? I don't recall the sender asking me to do this, and I didn't write any notes on the order pad that had anything to do with a phone call. I remember the phone conversation and the sender definitely didn't mention this. The lady was extremely angry and there was no way I could even figure out the true reason as to why..

A couple hours later, around 11:00, I went out to do 2 deliveries within about 2 blocks of the shop. I had dropped to first one off, and was on my way to the second house when I was driving by a park and saw 5 kids (about 12 years old) yelling at eachother, it was 3 against 2. So I slowed down to see what was happening, and eventually came to a stop. They saw me there and were trying to decide what to do. All of a sudden one guy was on the ground, he was being kicked in the back of the head. He managed to get up, and get farther away. That was when 2 of the guys started punching the girl that was part of the group of 3. The fight finally finished a couple minutes later with the 3 kids sobbing. I got out of my van to see if they were okay then drove them to one of their houses a couple blocks away.

I gave one of them my name and number just in case. Then about an hour ago I got a call from the Hamilton Police asking for a statement.

Hopefully thats the end of that. But that was my good deed of the day.

AND its not even 4:00 pm yet..

Next full moon, I'm staying home.. Ugh

Added: Former owner just got back from a delivery, and got into a fender bender... Wow what a day

Not only a full moon but did you also see Mars will be the closest ever to Earth in a couple days (the 27th) it won't be this close for another 60,000. years. With a telescope of only 75 mag. Mars will appear the size of the moon. So maybe the wierdness is a full moon and Mars. Wish I had a telescope

this thread hits a home run!!....many years ago, I was pretty young...started working with my dad as an electrician's helper, started at about 9 years old...anyways, were were almost home, and we came across a fight between 2 boys, and a small crowd watching.
My dad couldn't stand boys fighting, and he knew enough NOT to get in the path of 2 GIRLS fighting, so he stopped the company truck, jumped out, and ran out to, and in BETWEEN, the 2 scrappers, figuring he could help them settle their differences like men, and NOT girls!!
The crowd was stunned, the 2 boys were equally startled, just for a moment, and just when my dad "thought" it was all over, they BOTH jumped HIM.
My dad was a pretty big, and powerful man, and the 2 boys stood little chance...he grabbed them BOTH by the throats, slammed them to the ground, looked around as the crowd quickly ran for cover, lifted them BOTH up, kicked one literally in the arse, and missed the other by less than a foot...they were BOTH half a block down, by the time his foot came down!!
That nite, the cops showed up at our door, mom was petrified...there are 5 BOYS in our family, including dad!
The outcome, was that dad gave a statement, of exactly how it happened, what HE did, and that no one was hurt, in his broken english, the cops congratulated him, thanked him for his time, and said "we wish MORE parents cared about their kids like YOU do Mr.Bojeczko"!!...that was the end of it!
It's TOO BAD that in THIS day and age, the results would have been very different, but in THOSE days, there was NEVER a "fight" in OUR neighbourhood again!!

Isn't that sad? Today, your dad probably would have been charged with something.

My Dad's a cop, has been for 30 years. When he started if he caught a kid joy riding in his parents car, my dad said he wouldn't charge the kid, he would take the kid home to his parents because they would probably do a lot worse.
Now, he says if he did that the parents would file a complaint or some crap against him.
It's all very stupid.

He also never used to give a speeding ticket over 15km/hour. That way you get the ticket and but you wouldn't lose any points on your license. Then some guy took it to court saying he wasn't going to pay the ticket because he wasn't going 15 over, he was going 30 over. Since the ticket was incorrect, it got thrown out and my dad had to get reprimanded for it.
Do you think he ever gave anyone a break again???
stupid stupid people.
