Okay you creative folks, this finger belongs to my baby girl.....WAH!!!!!

Anyway, wedding will be Sept. 2011. Theme is Hoe Down, she likes white daisies and pink gerbs. She wants mason jars, and we thought to put three in various sizes, and put them on pink bandanas.

"Cake" will be an assortment of twinkies, ho-hos, etc. The stand will be tiered wagon wheels.

Problem - (aside from feeding the hoard) - 300 guests, 30 tables in big ballroom. I need something tall to offset for this many tables.

I'm also thinking about making a "saloon" for the bar, "Ranch" arches over doorways. You get the drift.

Any ideas at all will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Linda

Congratulations to your daughter (and you will get over the "shock" of losing your baby girl!!)
I'm seeing kerosene lanterns with gerbera daisies floating in the base (instead of kerosene) with wheat sheaves and daisies, gerbera and hops trailing from the top of the hurricane glass. Galvanized milk containers for the entrance filled with the same flowers and foliage, twinkie place cards with guest's names written in icing, hops and gerbera/daisie garlands on the head table.

Am i right in thinking hoe down is similar to Hannah Montanna movie setting?? Watching that film should give you some good ideas. I am seeing checked fabric somewhere or even checked ribbon incorporated into certain designs.

Congrats btw :)

Great, great idea on using barrels. They could also serve as the hi tops.

Don't forget to use ears of corn standing up and tied around a plastic throw away something to use for flowers. I also used ears of corn for a corn husk basket for a fall theme at the Phila flower show this year.

We had rented a "chuck wagon" for a church hoe down once and I saw the wagon being towed down the street to a graduation party recently. They serve some hoe down foods from it. Use to have this wagon serving breakfast sand. at Ft. Wilderness in Disney World

Have fun with this one!
