Hi All,
My membership expires in 2 days so I wanted to pop in and say a fond "goodbye" to everyone at Flowerchat. The past 6 months have been a blur of activity - at one point we had all the Grandparents in various hospitals (2 in Montreal while Ed and I were trying to catch some down time in Calgary, one on the day we returned to Toronto!). We've been travelling back and forth to Montreal every month where my mother-in-law is now in palliative care and will soon be leaving us; the other two pulled through and are hanging in!
I was able to sell all of my inventory from the store and have pretty well wrapped up the paperwork. I then went through a period of mourning the loss of the shop but in retrospect it was the smartest business decision that I ever made. I could not be in 3 places at once, and family always trumps business. I must say that I would open again in a heartbeat if the opportunity should present itself in the future, but only if I own the real estate. This is a tough business and I made plenty of mistakes but I still think that I have what it takes to be a successful florist.
I had a great time on this site and would like to thank everyone for sharing their lives with me -both personal and professional. I also wish you all great success and happiness.
Emily
