in Facebook land that is. Some of the photos of some shop's "holiday specials" and even their everyday work is really scaring me. I know not every one of my arrangements looks perfect - I don't photoshop and I will say there are days I wish I knew the program. But I have found if it doesn't look right in the photo take it back to the bench. Some look great but the photo shows it isn't and sometimes the photo doesn't do the design justice due to one dimension....... BUT, there are some very scary pictures floating around facebook...
Just sayin....:GP

I know my pics aren't fabulous, but other than some basics like correcting the color, cropping, and maybe sharpening them up, I don't tinker with them.

I moved one flower like 10 times last week for a photo because the camera kept showing too much stem! It was making me crazy because it really didn't show to my eyes.

Excuse me while I go look for scary photos on Facebook - hopefully not mine!

I love having other shops and photographers on facebook. It is an eyeopener in many ways. One thing i've really noticed - especially in the wedding photog pics is how bad the greens can look. Have you noticed how many have the bride holding the bouquet facing down? Sometimes the salal is so crappy and I can't believe the number of florist still using leather leaf in the bouquets - yuk. It's made me more aware and careful.

OMG-
I don't care how much J says leather leaf is great- You will not find it in anything I make! And sure as hell not in a bridal bouquet.

My pics used to be nicer. I need to get a better lamp.

I'm gonna post some new pics later oon FC. Yipes....I hope you like 'em!!

not sure if they are members here or visit... and can't remember which forums are closed... I'll pm you at FB...
OMG, I pm'd Cathy and Shannon the page and now it's not found !!!.... uh oh...

It's so darn hard to design for photo's and even hadrer to judge for yourself what is acceptable. Many times I've thought a product image not good enough and had others tell me it's fine.

Oh we are definately harder on ourselves than most consumers would be....This is the exact reason why bad florists exist years after their expiration....

I know I hate my designs on camera, but am starting to learn why...filler stinks to photograph and greens do to....unless they are used as a flower and not as background....The more dimension an arrangement has the more that shows up as a cluttered design on film....
