Jackie Kennedy Roses in Dallas

I've been watching Discovery Channel this evening and they are running the Kennedy assasination film.

Of course when this tragedy happened I was a kid and not into the details of flowers and the like. However, tonight while watching, I was surprised to see the bouquet given to Jackie appeared to be artificial roses.

Can this be confirmed?

I haven't look at this recently, so, can't say for sure, but, that was the beginning of the artificial flowers hayday. So, it certainly could be probably plastic because silk wasn't really being used yet.

If anyone ever comes to Dallas, the Dealy Plaza is worth checking out. I have been there many times when people come to visit me and found it extremely interesting each time. When you are standing exactly in the places where it all happened, you see things in a unique light.

To be honest, when I saw the flowers I was quite disappointed (in the great scheme of things that day though, does it matter?). It was surprising to me the roses weren't yellow along with being artificial.

Funny, when watching it last night, those same visceral feelings I had back then, were so reachable.
