Doing a party for Jello....need a recipe for making the jello squares...this has to last thru the night of the event....or is there another product out there that will jiggle and wiggle when it is used...the gel stuff we have used as a sample breaks down...
This is for real...I need jiggle wiggle stuff...

Hi Sher. How is the product going to be used? Do you actually need something as "firm" as jello jigglers get?

I might have something available but need more specific input if you wouldn't mind elaborating?

It is for a party and will be oin the VIP tables..it is in honor of Jello.....regualr gel that the wholesalers offer is not solid enough...we will be using oversized glasses, over sized spoons etc.... and making them look like a parfait of cubed jello...whatcha got in mind????

Better use REAL JELLO...

Once they get a few drinks in them they'll be eat'n the stuff....

Jello SHOTS!!

:pblush:

Yeah I had a recipie in college, but in included vodka. I forget where I put that recipe. :)

Sher- you might try real Jello but with much less water added. It can get very firm. Also If it is made in a shallow pan and left in the fridge for a few days it firms up alot. We did it for some school related project when the kids were little.

We make our own bath products and have a variety of ingredients at our disposal so that was getting me thinking... we currently make "Wiggle Wash" which is very much like jello jigglers.

You are needing it to be firmer than jello jigglers the idea of going with less water is feaseable but it's gonna be costly to go that route. I am assuming that the finished look will need to be "clear" like Jello is normally? Let me play around a tad with stearic acid (food grade) and see if it clouds the gelatin since I have it on hand. When do you need this by? If I can come up with something for you in time I'm happy to help.

Thanks...you sound like the mad scientist in your kitchen! lol the event is apr 2.....we are playing around with jello and less water right now...would you believe they wanted chocolate pudding the first time...ewieee....

sheesh.....

Pudding, Jello .... sounds fishy.

So how is the firm jello working out? The stearic is going to make the gelatin cloudy so I guess that isn't an option. Sorry.

A suggestion though - Plain gelatin actually sets up firmer than flavored jello does because it doesn't contain the sugar and other additives. I would use the plain and just add food coloring to it to make it look like "Jello".

Excellant...we did them in huge martini vases and filled it up 3/4 of the way then did the cut jigglers atop that...finished it off with a flower and they looked great! Used less water and a touch of plain gelatin and the held up thru the party....of course the whole store still smells like strawberry jello. lol
Thanks for everyone's input!
