I've been seeing lots of great bouquets and arrangements in magazines lately that have been catching my eye. The designers/florists are using a variety of succulents in the arrangements. (Like echeveria and such). Have any of you ever used succulents? I'm just curious really how you do it. Do you buy them as plants or are your wholesalers supplying them (as cut flowers)? Do they last well out of dirt and water (i.e. in bouquets). Would love it if someone would satisfy my curiosity! Hate not knowing things! :)

I have several suppliers selling the succulents as cut flowers....They ship in moist shredded paper on a really short stem...I would imagine you would use them by sticing a pick in them....Most succulents would last longer than cut flowers because of the water content in them, but I have no first had experience with them...These are way too cutting edge for my traditional customers and way beyond what most would pay for such a of the beaten path flower...

I grow mine or get them at a greenhouse. I actually didn't know there were cut suppliers for these.

The stems are usually just roots. I cross wire them and tape. They hold up very well. If you get them straight from the plant, they will obviously be dirty so I guess if they are cheap as a cut flower, go with that to save yourself the cleaning time.

They are fun little plants to grow and they multiply like crazy.
