Can one of you wizards of spray paint help me please.

I need to spray hydrangeas for a wedding next weekend. The color she's going for is 'lavender' hydrangea on Sierraflowerfinder. (tried to copy pic here but couldn't).

The only colors in her wedding are white, purple lisianthus and limonium. 'Lavender' looks too blue to me. Was going to do an underspray of Lilac, then and overspray of purple pansy. Opinions anyone??

Hey Jenny,

I have done that color many times...I usually start with the cheap blue SA hydrangeas...and get them as big and open as possible...I usually get them in the monday before the sat event...then I spray a light coat of Design master hyacinth, let it dry, then a mottled coat of just for flowers lilac and then another mottled coat of just for flowers delphinium blue....sometimes I will give a shot of design master basil green if I want to antique a bit or burgundy to give them that late fall look...

Good luck and have fun painting...

purple pansy may be too dark. I would start with a blue hydrangea like lori recommends.

also I've had good results with using a combination of wild rose and delphinium blue to get lavender and then a slight touch of purple pansy to "purple it up"

do some experimenting before hand.

you may want to try good old dippit. I had to do pink hydrangeas or a wedding. Used SA white hydrangeas and used the perfect pink. Experiment with the lavender or purple. The more you rinse the flower the lighter the tint becomes.Once the blooms are dried you can add the for flowers only to give a little variance in the colors. I would use the hydrangea blue. Who knows what colors blue hyd.would come out to be if you dipped them in the lavender.
