Last week I taught an Art Camp with about 10 kids at the local twp. parks & rec. in the park. I have done this for the past 5 years with two other art teachers. I have them for 2 hours a day, Mon. to Fri. and Yes, we get paid.
We paint flower pots and put together (very easy arrangements with maybe 3 to 5 flowers and greenery) an arrangement to bring home. I try to do something that relates to nature and of course flowers come to mind! Yes it's also marketing. We did framed dried arrangements last year and I signed the backs of each childs piece and wrote they were Flower Show quality. And, yes they were!.
In the Dead Days of July and August, unless you have weddings, think about this for your shop. I have my class at the twp. in the park, but you could venture out and have it anywhere. It's good advertisement for your shop too. If you work with the local Parks & Rec., they do all the advertising for you and you will reap the benefits.
