Has anyone seen Gordon Ramseys new show "Kitchen Nightmares"? I use to find him rather obnoxious, but know that I have been glued to his new show, I find him rather refreshing. He takes restaurant (very similar to flowershops) and turns them around with a no sh*t in your face, flush your ego, in your face method of streamline the menu, clean up your act AND your building, and get down to business way of turning failing businesses around.

I saw this episode on TV last night, a small town english couple he helped that had no clue. The husband (chef) who's entire menu was collected by an assortment from cookbooks, to a streamlined menu easily preprepared. The wife a welsh dragon as Ramsey called her, spanked and taught to stop the attitude and welcome the customers instead of throwing them out the door.

Double click the video and watch a few more clips to get a taste of what this show contains. I would hire a consultant like this in a new york minute.

Gordon Ramsey is a love hate character but i love him, although i used to have no time for him

This show has been on for years and the american ones are great.. I always think of you guys when he has done a resteraunt and wonder if one of your flowershops are round the corner!! Well worth a watch and i would love the exposure that he gives the business...

Funny enough though he was on the news before for having a kitchen nightmare of his own, he may have two of his michellin star resteraunts shut down in London due to taxes not being paid..

I just love this show coming from a family that had a restaurant and all, the most interesting one last year was when he went back and visited several places that he had been to previously to see how they were doing after the reno six months or a year later. Cool!

We used to watch the UK one for years - it was much better, IMHO.

The US version has his big-budget people storming all over the place, whereas the UK version was about real advice and practicle changes.

I think a year or three back we had some discussion on who would make the better "Flower Shop Nightmares" host. :)

He actually visited one in Widnes but i dont think that was under kitchen nightmares, i think that one was another show about start ups.

Agree about the budgets been different, I dont think the americans stand for his behaviour as much as us though lol

I enjoy it occasionally but am really enjoying Tabitha's Salon Takeover as mentioned before. We stumbled across it but after watching just one episode, the next time I went into work I was looking around with a critical eye! :)

This Canadian doesn't like his behaviours much either. ;)

Apartly some of the American show are slightly staged but the British one aren't. In the UK we are used to him being a ranting nut. Very talented ranting nut though. He has such good ideas, alot can be learn't from him no matter what business you are in. That clip is pretty old, I've seen it several times but it it always makes me giggle. Whay to go Gordon. The best on was an American one where the owner kept calling him Gordy. I tought he was going to nut him.:wallhead:

Ever see the American episode with the French Chef/Owner? Can I ask, is there a deep seated rift between the Brits and the French?
