Remembering our lily of the valley conversation a while back, I wonder if anyone out there likes to use lamb’s ear from the garden? I love covering things with it.

I posted the father’s day tie a couple of weeks ago.

This cornucopia was beautiful for weeks, even after it dried.

The blow dryer wreath/ring was just a kicky little something for my hairdresser.

And last week I did some of the "containerless" pieces that Lee Ann Kessler had on ubloom, using lamb’s ear. Loved the look of the grey-green foliage and silver wire.

I was thinking that a heart covered with lamb’s ear would be pretty for a funeral design. Any other experiences with this beautiful foliage?

Our backyards, front yards, roadsides, and overgrown lots are TREASURE TROVES for us as designers just waiting for us to plunder the riches that are there.

fun designs done by the way.......so cool and so different.

I made the cornucopia design after taking a James Lutcke workshop. Love his work!

Inferno, I've been using spray tach 2000 instead of oasis glue to adhere the leaves to the surfaces. I think it gives a better overall look and there's no bleedthru.

The longer the design needs to last, the more overlap will be needed. The cornucopia design lasted for weeks and because it built over a rustic wire frame, the shrinkage and holes that occurred over time looked really cool.

If you don't want the underlying structure to show, allow a little more overlap. That way as it shrinks, there's still good coverage.

Rather than Tack 2002 or Tack 3000 from Design Master.....when it comes to aerosol spray glues.....I use nothing but 3M 77

Doesn't have the overspray, the loose filaments, the mess that you get typically with Tack 2000 or 3000

If you have not tried 3M 77 - try it next time.....usually comes with two spray tips...a white one creates a wide spray and a red tip gives you a narrower spray

Where do you purchase this?

Your hardware/building supply stores usually are the best places to get it......you can get it from some floral wholesalers and suppliers.....but it is usually a bit cheaper from the hardware store.

What Ricky said. The 3m stuff is better and cheaper.

And that class with Lutke was decent. I wanted to see some of his crazy stuff, not so much basic, but the cornucopia thing was great to walk away with.

I did bouquet holders with the tricked out ends that looked all Seussical. It was awesome.

What's NOT awesome is that I took no pictures...sometimes I am just too busy and too tired....

3M 77 thanks for thank info .looking forward to trying that .I find Tack messy too .

I received some Lamb's Ear from Delaware Valley several weeks ago and the stuff was fabulous. It's so nice having DV in my backyard again.
