What is your website address? laticiarose.com

How long have you been in business? Just starting out! I am currently employed as a designer / florist at a sinking Twin Cities Shop, hoping to start my own consulting / design service.

Do you have any formal floral education? No - Worked in industry for many years however.

How were you referred to FlowerChat? People at work.

What do you hope to gain from membership? Florist resources as I hope to break out on my own soon and I really need help with a web site!

What do you feel you can contribute to the community? To be honest I am not sure! I do have many years experience as a designer, started as 'general help' and have worked my up the ranks, I am sure as time goes i will be a worthwhile contributor.

Hi! Are you planning on opening a retail location, or just doing freelance design and consulting? Do you plan on operating from a home or commercial location? Are you still employed with that sinking Twin Cities shop?

Thanks in advance for your answers!!!

Hi Amy, still employed - hoping to open a retail location in the future, but I am sure I will have to start with the freelance thing to build a client base, plan on working out of leased 'shared' warehouse space, I already have a used cooler and many supplies to help with my getting all of this going :)

"...sinking Twin City Shop..." Does that mean that you are working at a shop that is going out of business? How soon do you expect to start your own business?

The shop I am at seems to "be going down the tubes". They have been sending people home early alot lately, this is worrysome. I have heard rumors it is for sale.

I have advised them I will be 'moving on' after Valentines.

I have secured the warehouse space in NE Minneapolis for March 01 - It is a sort of open studio space I will share with another that I can move my cooler into. (Current employer does not know this)

I am ready to go, and hopefully, by then I will have a nice website online - I thought I could do one of these 'self published sites' but clearly I need more. The one I have now runs horrible ads on top of the page and took forever for me to figure our how to use their cheesy page composer!
