YO JB!!!

Led Zeppelin reunion concert in November in NY....

Will wonders never cease?

Sweet - now if Floyd would just pull one together. I just bought tickets to Assie Floyd for October - very very very good tribute band - best you can get these days with Floyd ignoring us all. Wll be 3rd time I've seen them.

The Rock Pile.

I only saw Led Zepplin once I think I paid $3.00 or $4.00 dollars for the ticket. It was at an old Masonic Temple called the Rock Pile.

It was just after their first album came out in Canada, think fall of '69 or early 70.

surf this

go to google enter the rock pile toronto

chose the second listing. you will see alot of the groups I saw there.

The best shows were Jeff Beck, Led Zepplin, Arthur Brown, the Nice.

Now you know why I am so cool.

wow doug, that amazing, now you can pay $250 to see them!!!!:musical:

bloomz, I know you love floyd, but this is Led Zep, much more rocking and exciting!

also I think Bonhams son will be on drums, which really makes it cool! :musical:

Oh, I may beg to differ...There is no show ever like Pink Floyd..The laser show man...I really like to be entertained by someone I pay good money to see...Not that Led Zepplin doesn't rock or aren't talented but I don't think their show quality is any better than any other band that just gets up on stage and sings and plays instruments...I like some artistict expression on stage mixed with theatrics...that is what I want to pay money for..Although I would like to see LedZepplin, I hardley think any band is worth seeing for over 75.00 a ticket...

Thank you Lori! You nailed it there - I've seen Floyd live 17 times and there is nothing in the world like a PF show - they truly take you off the planet.

Did you know their last US tour it took 54 semis to carry their stage, lights and gear around the country?

Hate to admit it but not really - I once paid $300 each for 4th row seats for the wall - and that was a long time ago. (1980 I believe at Madison Square Garden - I saw them 9 times on the previous tour, just the once for the wall, but twice last time they came which I believe was 94 - @@@@ I wish they would tour again)

PS - what the hell is wrong with the word dam n ???

I only saw Pink Floyd once at Foxboro Stadium sometime in the 90's. It was the most amazing show..It was a very misty night so the laser show was extra special...It took my level of band veiwing to new heights now I am a snob..Motley Crue actually put on a great show 2 years ago and I was plesantly surprised by the amount of theatrics and things going on on the stage...Eminem and Linkin park also put on a very entertaining show...I can go on and on with who I like and who I don't like, prior to owning my shop when i actually made a good wage, I used to hit about 10-12 shows a year of variuous types of bands, some great, some good and some awful...I love me a good live show..

I missed Motley about 1-2 years ago here but next time they come - I am there. Thanks for the tip - cuz I love big shows too - KISS does a pretty good one even tho I am not much of a fan of their music - and Paul McCartney I think it was last year kinda spoiled me too - I've been blessed to go to hundreds of concerts since the 60's (Jimi, Janis, Jim, Monterey Pop, and everything else I could get to) and he was the last one on my list I couldn't die without seeing - now I can die in peace if that happens. No wait!

Now I gotta to see Tommy's tittycam in action!

Lori - if you get a chance the Australian Pink Floyd (on tour again now) is as close to the real thing as it comes, with a fairly big show too and phenomenally performed music - every pick scratch and everything of Gilmore's beautiful guitar playing. They even played for David's birthday party.

Tittycam? I don't think I want to know! LOL

I too read that Jason Bonham would be on drums. I saw Led Zep way back in the early 70s at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. It's outdoors and it was a foggy day. The fog drifting through the trees added so much to the ambiance of the concert!

I also really like Robert Plant solo. We saw him back in about 1990 or so.

Hubby and I caught Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young last summer. It was so amazing, I stood there with goosebumps the whole time, singing along to every song. Their music is the soundtrack of my late teens!

Saw lots of Tom Petty concerts, lots of The Cars concerts back in the day.

Linkin Park.. LOVE them!

Beth :~)
(who needs to go to more concerts!) :hippy2:

I saw them at the PNE (Vancouver) in 1970. The only way my brother could go was if I took him. I'm cool too, but when all but two people, lit up to the opening strains of Stairway to Heaven, I was doomed to spend the rest of the concert in the parking lot. I hate the smell of weed... yetch. Doesn't matter though, I heard the concert just fine from my vantage point. :)

Best concert for me, the Beatles at Maple Leaf Gardens. Tickets were $4.00 in the nose bleed seats, but I didn't care, we were breathing the same air. Couldn't begin to tell you what they sang as we couldn't hear anything. I did not scream... I cried and cried and cried.

I have seen so many great concerts because of the proximity to Toronto, and going to University in a two University town... lots of concerts. :)

Next time try this.

... I hate the smell of weed... yetch... :)

Suggestion, next time inhale as much of the smoke as possible, then you won't mind the smell, who knows you may even end up laughing about it.:headbang:

1979

Candlestick Park, SFO...with Rick Derringer and Judas Priest as opening acts. I think the tickets were in the $10-$20 range.

When Led Zep debuted album and show in 1969, it was like NOTHING anyone had ever seen before.

Back in those days it was real musical talent and imagination, and it set the stage, so to speak, of most everything that was to come.
I know every "older" generation thinks their heyday was the best...but for me those were exciting times which could never be equaled now.

Just thought I would add to the "concert experiences". The first was Triumph, a C
anadian rock band, some of the best were The Police in Charlevoix, MI - The Ghost in the Machine Tour WOW! Def Leopard, David Lee Roth, Autograph and the " Monsters of Rock" VanHalen, Dokken, Kingdom Come, Scorpions and Metalica in the Pontiac Silverdome, and if this wasn't enough, when VanHalen was playing, after one song Eddie VanHalen is pointing to were my husband and I were sitting, turned around and "oh my god "TED NUGENT" right above us! He came down onto the stage to do a few songs. Cool!!!!!

V. At least you knew what the smell was! I'm coming out of a Moody Blues concert with my then 14 year old niece, who informs that the people around us are having a lovely "toke"! Naive old auntie had no idea and started wondering how my niece knew what it was! Well, duh, she replys, I do go to high school!!
The concert was fantastic by the way. Gudrun

linkin park???!! Im impressed with my lady fellow florists, I didnt think you could like pink floyd and linkin park in the same sentence, very impressive lori & beth! Old school & new school!:headbang:

I am only 36 but my Dad was a rock fan and I grew up listening to the old time rockers, but I do like my new bands, too. I actually have a wide and eclectic taste in music..
