I resemble that remark!I believe that it will be quite a while before companies start hiring a lot of people. Most florists I know have plenty of people working reduced hours. That means even when business improves, the existing employees will get more hours before hiring new people.
WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?
That only means that 15 people out of every 100 are out of work here in Michigan. It does not count those people who have seen their wages or hours cut.
I have hope because our great Democrat Governor Granholm and the Democrats who control the State Legislature are working on next years budget. It seems that they have found the answer for the state.
Last year they passed the biggest tax increase in our state history to balance last years budget telling the people that should take care of our problems. This year they will only be short about 3 billion and that's after Obama's stimulus money. And talk is they see the only way out is another big tax increase.
Talk about having a vision. Talk about working to create jobs. Talk about working for the taxpayers. It should make all those out of work people happy to be paying even higher taxes because here in the state your unemployment money is taxable.
As it was explained here... it looks like the worst may be over. However, the recovery will take time and that includes employment numbers.

it's gonna take a LONG time.....there are NO ABSOLUTE solutions, and US "protectionism" is just deepening the rift.
With a socialist President, and a protectionist Congress, you guys are in for a long ride, over a long winding road, built with an unpayable debt load.
it's gonna take a LONG time.....there . . .
With a socialist President . . . .
This is a dangerous time for BOTH our recovering economies...the STUPIDEST thing we can do, is EXCLUDE one another, from our decision making!
