Live Chat Last Tuesday

Well ... how about some feedback?

How did the chat go? I wasn't able to "attend" as we're having our windows replaced, and the computer moved across the room and under a blanket.

So how'd it go?

I thought it was successful - we had a few glitches with the refresh rate but nothing major. Turn out wasn't huge but it wasn't bad. All and all, I found it interesting.

It was OK but not much substance.
I'm not a fan of "live" chat.
Too much going on, too fast.
There is no topic. Or I should say, there are too many topics.
Like I said, I'm not a fan.

I used my dial up instead of Cable

I could chat for about 3-5 minutes and then when I would go to respond...my post was not showing up.

Anyone else? and no I was on my home computer not the Dell at the shop.

I thought it went pretty good, I was there for most of it. Who all did we have there.. Let's see: Boss, Shelby, Audra,George Simon, Allison at Flowersoft, Bloomz, JohnQ, Shanes,Joanne, BBJ, John Bon Jovi, myself and I likely have missed some other folks, as I didn't keep a list.

I think the refresh rate had a few people confused as there's "lag", which in my opinion makes things go a bit slower and harder to follow. But I come from a time, when you had 500 people in IRC chat rooms, all talking/typing at one time. haha

Not really. Takes a bit of time to adjust to it. Plus then you might have some private conversations going on at the same time.

I don't think I could have handled any private conversations last night. I was almost overwhelmed trying to read all the posts.

I remember the good old "teleconferencing days" where you'd have main topic channels, private channels plus whispering, directed comments and private messaging all going on at the same time.

I am usually at the gym at that time so I will probably miss most of the chats.

My computer at home is from the dark ages, so it's not likely I'll be able to participate...too bad...I would enjoy that opportunity.

I used to chat at MSN classic rock all the time, even met our plumber there. They live less than a mile from us in our city. Hubby would get on one computer and I an another and both go in the chatroom. It was fun.

I would love to attend the live chat but our bible study is on Tuesday night. Oh well, maybe another night for those of us that are busy on Tuesday.

Yes, I have ICQ and talk to dozens of other people around town sometimes late at night, on weekends etc.
