Interesting thing to know would be....

Was it something someone said?? Or do you think they have had a change of heart??

Loblaw's is Canada, Canada is Frank - I know I complained to Frank, I'm sure several others here did too. Outside of FTD, Frank is also my friend, he isn't the kind of guy to just ignore the concerns of his membership.

Intersting thing about Loblaws, too ... their claim to be "up to 25% FTD.com" is based on the fact they don't have a sending fee.

Sound familiar?

Do you think someone did the math?

Did one of the suits looked at the program and say "memo to self" if we charge 8.95 delivery per order that is an additional $1.79 commission for us.

I could never understand why they undersold the street, florists have been getting delivery charges for decades.

Perhaps, they must be losing their shirts in markets that charge $9.95 for delivery.

You are such a tease! :tongue

One thing we south-of-the-border types don't understand about this company is whether they actually fill some or any of the orders sold on that site.

Do their stores have full-service shops? (Some supermarkets here do - and they can be quite good - but it's the exception rather than the rule.)

Do they deliver their own local orders for free?

Just curious.

Some Loblaws deliver - I'm not sure about the charge. We had a designer leave here to manage a Loblaws floral department. She got a better wage, benefits and the ability to move around within the company.

She also had to manage a staff of minimum wage and student employees. :>

The freshness of their product is quite good, she's a very capable designer, and they contacted our old delivery service who were hungry for business.

I also know the Fortino's in Woodbridge delivers through a courier company.

In Salt Lake City (& throughout Utah) we have a grocer who is a Member of
FTD, and who delivers. However, you can "never" forward an order to them on Mercury, because it seems they have their Merc on permanent suspend, although they do send mercury Orders out. They do charge $10.00 for delivery, and they do have somewhat of a website. harmonsfloral.com
Couple years ago, we tried to merc them a grocery list of 1 gal milk, a loaf of bread, 2 lbs of bananas, 2 cans on tuna, a jar of pickles etc.....
This is when we found that their Merc was on permanent suspend.

That's awesome ... too bad Loblaws is SFO as well.

I'll have to try it, though :)

Too bad.......would be real nice to get 20% off on your grocery bill and a nice rebate to boot!!!!

Hey, maybe we can place an order with Loblows for delivery for something they cannot possibly have with a second choice of our weekly grocery list; MAYBE they're 25% cheaper than Sobey's; so we can save 25% + receive our 20% sending share on our grocs; now THAT'S SAVINGS!!!!!
I'll tell you what - if I can merc my groc order to Loblow's so they can deliver it to me I might even fill their orders!!!
MAYBE we can make a deal after all!!! And who says us florists aren't reasonable!!! And FTD will make 7% on a much bigger $ value too! :)
Rock on
