A first time customer just called and found it very refreshing to talk to someone who sounded like they knew what they were talking about...
He wanted a same day delivery to go out, for me it was a wire out, I said sure, He began to tell me about the cc hassles with proflowers and his bank said they were trying to ok .01 to check card and blah blah, He asked if this was going to be a problem with us, I said I would have to take the order and see...I was fully expecting to have to decide if billing this guy was going to be an option or not....sounded like a set up for fraud...but anyway, we went on, he gave me all his info, i gave him a price of 66 something, he said wow that is cheaper than proflowers and the arrangement was the same price...and I am going to get it today, now mind you this had a local delivery and my service charge added on that is 22.99 added on to the price of the arrangement, and it was cheaper for same day instead of next day...
His credit card goes through fine and I send the order...now I give hime the spiel about where we are and our local specials and our loyalty program and new hours and I have him....He will now be a loyal affairs to remember flower buyer, thanks to proflowers stupid ways and off shore phone idiots....chalk one up for the little guy!!!!
Oh yeah, Just so you know I would have sent this guy a bill if there was a cc problem, after checking out his local info and finding it was legit and checking back the phone number...I think that 66.00 is very little to lose on a possible client for life...I would have been OK getting burned just for the look see if this guy would have paid and to see if he will become a regular...FYI
