An unfortunate and apparently growing practice in the restaurant & catering trade. Is what you see on the menu truly from where it claims to be?

Sound familiar? Swap the trade to flowers and is what you see with the search engine results of your question truly where it claims to be?

Boss, You don't think that there are (unhealthy) similiarities then with DOGs mis-representing their location to the consumer?

Yes, of course I do. My answer was to your last question.

Linda, A farmer and his wife whom I know gave me the tip. Several (small to smallish) farmers in central/southern NJ and their associated Farm Markets are certainly mightly un-happy with the referenced practice. They are also having an up-bill battle with certain key words supermarkets (and others) use...words such as "local" and "fresh" as applied to fruit and veg. Apparently there is no legal definition in the US of "local"...apparently to Whole Foods "local" is a trucks full day drive away; to one supermarket chain in NJ, "local" is not NJ produce but as far away as Ohio. "Fresh" tomatoes in a supermarket were probably harvested weeks or sometimes longer go...it actually makes flowers from S.America or California (across to the east coast) and harvested in mid-April and in florists now/during this week tehcnically fresher.
