Newest offering from 800Flowers.... locatemyflorist.com

Man they have some ugly sites ;) but besides that... check out this search from their front page, they list florists up to 50 miles away... but there are no phone numbers listed, and I could not find a single listing that had anything but one of their templates...

Thoughts?

1800 is rubbing it in our faces...because they CAN Mark!!
They are in NO WAY, any help in maintaining a ws to florist relationship.

Seemd pretty pointless to have listings - no fone numbers and not even a link to 800z themselves. Or did I miss something?

I posted about that site back in August - http://flowerchat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11223&highlight=locatemyflorist

It was the directory with the hidden links from Bloomnet hosted florist sites pointing back to itself. The hidden links appear to have been removed. :)

With zero inbound links, who will ever find it?

I originally read about the directory in a full page ad at Floral Management. Don't waste your money on this turkey.

Not Very accurate either, their first listing for our area has been out of business for 9 months.

I am a Bloomnet member and I am not even listed n my town, WTF is that all about??? I guess they need a call...My guess is they will try to pressure me into one of their sites....

AFAIK, you only get a full listing and link if you have one of their sites.

The original area that Boss posted had no florists with sites at all. It was just listings of area florists..

Lori - I see you listed in your town - scroll down list on the left and you're the first one with a yellow gerbera. The first four are shown with purple tulips and all have Bloomnet shop sites.

added: I believe the site lists all current Bloomnet members but omits any useful contact data (phone number, website link) unless a shop has a Bloomnet-hosted site.

Yes, it's a crappy way to treat dues-paying florist members. No they're not the first, nor the last.

Just know that they don't really want consumers to find you - or they'd list full details of every member and link it from the home page of 1800flowers.com.

I have a call into bloomnet about this site to get the whole story. it looks as if all of the members are listed, but only members that have a bloomnet website have a link. I am going to let them know that 90% of the florists listed do have a website and that the term "no online shopping" is very misleading and can harm our businesses as we do pay alot of money to promote our online sites and that it is not a fair assumption on their part that because we do not have a bloomnet hosted site that we do not offer online shopping. I suggest anyone else listed here with a website do the same thing.

Search from here(at the shop I find myself now) Searching from home I did not. The thing that peeves me is the fact that the yellow gerbera says no online shopping available which is just not true. I can fully understand that they want to push their own site but listing untruths is really not too fair. I want them to take that out...at least..

I have spoken to Chris at Bloomnet and voiced my concerns about there being no phone number for us and that the yellow gerbera painted us as not having a website at all which is just not true. He will be putting in my concerns to Headquarters, maybe if enough of us call and voice this concern, they will change it to reflect that fact that we do pay dues and should at least get our phone numbers listed...
