take the Memorial Cup! After a season of 79-9-2 they broke a 40 year losing streak. It's a very good day. Fireworks are exploding in the neighbourhood, horns are blasting, people are shouting... I'm guessing there's a party going on.

And the after game revellers were as classy as the players... so many street parties and no unfortunate incidents. All in all a really great 10 days of celebration and fun for the city.

The Knights...

beat a great team in Rimouski, that just plain ran out of steam!!
THE LEAGUE IS GOING TO hafta DO SOMETHING ABOUT a zone "final" then a championship game 2 nights in a row!!
Even the best NHL team could NOT play AND win 2 zones in 2 nights!!
However, the London team had a great run this year, was a "team" all year long, and certainly was the better team overall, and deserved the Memorial!!

The Knight's, judging by their numbers, had a better than "great" run, in my opinion. They dominated the entire league throughout the season. I'm not a great hockey affectionado, but, I know and respect talent, grace, class and heart when I see it... the Knight's have all of the aforementioned.

And I agree that there should be a day between the last semi and the final... however, I don't really think it would have made a difference in this case. The Knight's were primed and ready ( as was the city) and the depth of the talent is really something.
