Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). To cover all the households it has been estimated that he has to travel 650 miles per second. This exceeds the normal speed limit.
In a gesture of goodwill and holiday spirit, Sergeant O’Brien has spoken with the head of security at the North Pole and assured them that Santa and his team of speedy reindeer have free passage through the London area without fear of being stopped by any member of the Traffic Management Unit.
Santa has also passed along the message that although he enjoys a good “rum and eggnog” every once in a while, he’ll stick to milk and cookies on Christmas Eve because he doesn’t like to drink and then drive.
