After a long battle, my "little" Sister Melanie passed away from Cancer yesterday at the age of 45. The only way I can describe how I feel is I have a huge hole in my heart. This is so painful. I am so sad today and I already miss her, but I am relieved that her suffering is over.
It started in her breast 2 years ago, thought they had it beat but in August, it came back with a vengeance and went to her lungs and everywhere else. I feel good that we as her 5 siblings and her Mom lovingly came together and cared for her til the end. Hospice was a Godsend. A worthwhile cause to contribute to. We will celebrate her life with a Memorial Service on March 15. I would like her service to be as unique as she was, so any ideas you might have would be appreciated. We have a family member who is a soloist in a popular band who will sing Lonestars " I'm already there" her favorite song. There will be lots of flowers there, as she loved them. Especially pink roses! Debbie

Debi J,

I'm sorry to read about your sister. The feeling of loss of a sibling is indescribeable and unbearable isn't it? Please know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you pass through this sad period.

So sorry...warm wishes

Our Prayers are with you and yours.

So sorry for your loss. We just lost a very dear High School Classmate of ours after her long 10 year battle with ovarian cancer at age 59.

What a trooper she was! Always perky and always up and adam and always hopeful.

I bet your sister was a lot like my friend, Gena.

Debbie,
I'm so sincerely sorry for your loss. As a cancer patient, I know how important family support and love is during this battle. She was very fortunate to have you and your family backing her. I will say special prayers for you today.

Sisters are such a blessing and to lose one so young. Keeping you and your family in our prayers.

We are indeed blessed to spend whatever time we can with our loved ones. What a blessing that she knew how much you loved her to the end. Love to you and yours.

My heart goes out to you and to your family. I can only imagine what you are feeling.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

HUGS

Sending my thoughts and prayers. Her long battle is over and her journey beginning anew.

I'm sad today for you, if your looking for something unique a celebration of her life, gather many photo's that you have and have them made into a loop tape to be played for family and friends with music. Have seen this done tastefully.
Again I'm very sorry for your broken heart.May God be with you,
Elmo

Thoughts of sympathy from NJ - terribly sad just imagining what it would be like to lose my brother, or sister.

hugs,

Celebrate her life Debbie... with all the joy you can muster. I'm sure she will be watching.

Take comfort in the memories you share and talk about her whenever you can.

I send sympathy to you and your family.

My sincerest sympathy, thoughts, prayers, and meditations are with you and your loved ones during this time. Having lost several of my immediate family members - I always did tributes that encompassed and reflected a part of their lives. A nephew who passed recently so loved his little dog, that he had made arrangements for the dog to go to a good home. ( He was diabetic and knew he may not live long )
I chose for him to design a garden in which I placed a resin statuary of a chihuahua - which was his little dog.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and warm thoughts. This is truly a special community. I appreciate each and every word you've offered. This has been a long empty day. Its been such a long intense situation where we focused daily on her care for so long and now she's not here. We will take your suggestions and plan a memorial service even SHE would be proud of.

Love and friendship to you all!
Debbie
