I love that Narnian fairy tale look of big puffy snow covering every branch-beautiful. However as a person living in Minnesota, I am getting a bit tired of the cold. Still love that look though! Especially if you see a little red Cardinal sitting up there singing at you.

As lovely as that looks (really), I'm glad it's you and not us for a change.

I'm dog sitting out in the country this weekend (I love the peace). The Great Dane, and the Lab/Boxer and I proweled the property early this morning just before the thunder and lightning. The rain was persistant but I had a brolly... sadly the dogs didn't. ;) I love mornings like this because the bird song is more joyful to my ears... the frogs sound philharmonic in the rain... yes I love it.

I liked it up until the point where I realized....shoot I've gotta get shoveling! So off I went and I just got done....relaxing on FC now.

you wasted your time, I bet by now, the snow is gone.

A, you have been in S. CA way too long.

joe

p.s. I too woke up to a snow covered lawn.... and I am 300 miles south of you.

Oh No I didn't waste my time Joe!! Under that snow was a layer of ice that I KNOW my car wouldn't have been able to get through. So by shoveling, it allowed that gorgeous sun to beam on it all day and melt it away!! So I was able to leave my house at 1730 to take the kids to pick up Guitar Hero METALLICA!! Which by the way we are enjoying IMMENSELY!! Everyone else in my neighborhood still has ice on their drives or a layer of snow. PLUS I got a great workout and burned calories!!

SO THERE!

you live in Chicago now. get used to driving on ice.

I can't deny that it is a good work out.

Being the lazy person I am, I waited until Mother Nature melted it for me. I did venture out to the grocery store...nothing like puddles and slush to make shopping a little more taxing!?!?!? I hope all my little bulbs are ok after their snow blanket!

I am over winter...I need to see green and flowers!!!!!

Not when you have 3/4 bald tires!! Think Safety first....waiting for my money tree to come in and pay for my Civic Hybrid tires!!! Until then I gotta play it safe.

Aileen, you can keep the snow!

Sharon, Brolly=umbrella

V, I've attached a pic for you. This was a sign is a shop in Goathland, Yorkshire 2 years ago; thought you'd like it.
Rock on..................

I grew up in a family who always either carried a brolly or wondered where they had left it... so brolly is part of my vocabulary as a result. Besides it's shorter than "where is my umbrella?".

Thank for the pic Hugh. :)

I read the title of this thread and thought to myself, oh no snow. And of course it was snow.

I am so sick of snow right now, It is mostly gone here, except for a few places in the mountains. BUT, we will get another snow storm before this season is over, we always do.
