So you might of remembered some people in my area (2 couples) won the second biggest lottery or something like that.

This artist from Alaska is trying to find them. She wants us to hand deliver this tapestry of the winners along with a faux garland. Basically she is like a solicitor and wants these rich people to know her work and order more. She also wants us to find where these two couples live.

What would you do? I'm thinking about quoting her $500 and then I'll do it. while I'm add it, make sure my business card is with the garland and add their address to my mailing list. ;)

I really don't feel like being her middleman solicitor, but hey, for $500, I'll deliver a gift. lol

Attached is the tapestry.

Ok here it is:

Personally, if I were the winners, I wouldn't want pushy sales people traipsing around trying to "give" me stuff for possible future purchases.
Professionally, I do believe I would give them their space, add them to your mailing lists if you have their address and let it go from there.

Integrity is worth far more than a dollar amount. I wouldn't touch this with any length of pole. Privacy for winners seems to be paramount and at a premium. Most complain of all the wackos that come from nowhere and everywhere. Let the "artist" do her own dirty work... you'll be the better for it.

No offense to my norhteren snow birds but I think this "artist" may have been cooped up in the cabin too long...not only is it tacky and funeral looking but to "track" them down for future business is just plain unethical at the very best and scary at the least...I'd stay as far away from this transaction as possible...you could lose more that the $ 500 bucks in your reputation...

Suggest that the artist contact a local gallery and arrange for a one-man show featuring this tapestry. Perhaps provide some contact information for the galleries. That's as far as I would go.

Thank you all! My wife and I feel the same. Connie, thanks for sound advice. I agree with everyone and yes I'd do it for $500 Mikey. Two 8 foot plush garlands and my time, yep, $500. Our silks are spendy.

We deliver gifts sent to us with flowers all the time, but this is just soliciting and deceitful. I think what I will do is, after Vday, call them up and tell them what has happened and what would they like me to do. I'll tell them how I felt about NOT delivering it to them, until I got an ok from them. If I can't locate them within 15 min of my time, I'll give up.

I'll let you know how this rolls out, if anything happens.
