i need some help. i need to do an arrangement to be beside the urn on a table for a lumberjack..i am thinking of a small norfolk with an ivy growing around it and then adding live cut flowers for color. any thoughts?? other ideas welcom too..thanks!!

Hi Sunshine,
when I hear lumberjack I think flannel, boots, leather gloves and sawdust? (I know weird ) Like the norfolk idea, maybe use some flannel in the bow or around the pine or tie bow from a pair of boot strings.

No doubt right now, you have a lot of evergreens in stock.....take some of your pine branches and create a forest of pine trees.....use some smaller boxwood for some bushes, use some flowers, basically, create a winter forest.

Use some ivy or other trailing greens......maybe some berries, other masculine touches.

hey all excellent ideas..i thought of the log but the table is only 2ft wide and there isnt much room..keep em coming somethings gotta work..so far i put a norfolk, with cedar behind it, an ivy in front winding up a crooked willow branch, a small buck by the pine, a couple acorns, and a green ribbon with husband on it..i am thinking of adding some more pine pieces around it and tying small ribbons of flannel on the pine...hmmmmmm...thanks to all for ideas..merry xhristmas

The one I did a few months ago, we took a piece of birch, put a hatchet it in and I "made" a crosscut saw to put into the design.
That was also done in lots of pine, fir, twigs, grasses etc.

We did a casket spray for a customer in November (dang I forgot to take pictures). He was a logger, his wife brought in is toy logging truck and name in Wood and we incorporated it in the spray. We also incorporated twigs in the spray... Lots of texture.

His wife was pleased as punch.....Loved It!!

Does the family have any of his momentos, favorite saw, anything he might have used in his line of work??

Do not let the funeral dictate your style or creativity - your job is to please the family first, the funeral home second.

You could always

You could organize people to dress up like Mounties, and a Lumber Jack and do an over the top rendition of "I'm Lumber Jack" by Monty Python.

Let me know how it goes over.
