making lilygrass balls..

have you ever made one of these?
a three dimensional ball made from lilygrass is what im talking about.
i did make one the other day but it took me way too long-
just wondering if anyone makes these on a regular basis that wouldnt
mind sharing their technique.

I looked online to see if anyone had a how-to but alas, no luck. My husband's book has a lot of weave how-to's in it, but not the orb. (He does teach it in hands-on classes and a few of our staff members make them.)

You're right, they make excellent design elements but need to be hand-crafted quickly enough to warrant and re-coup the labor cost.
