Marilyn, you state no formal education but have you worked in a florist/flower shop in the past? How have you learned to design? Are you a full service flower shop with licenses, delivery capability, refrigeration etc? Does your home have a workshop or studio in it?
:)

good questions Rhonda...After reading the Budget posts on another individual, I too , would like to start participating in the voting...so here I am..and interested in your responses...

I can't seem to find any info on your business in google.

I am interested in some of the same questions as Rhonda.

Please, if you would, elabortae on the type of services you provide and the type of business and design skills you have, Thanks in advance.

I have a few additional questions...

Your name says displays...are you a florist or a some sort of a merchandiser? Do you work with fresh flowers? If your business is mixed, what percentage of your sales are fresh flowers?

Thanks for your interest! I look forward to your reply!

I too would like answers to the above. Thank you for taking the time.

Kathleen, if I could give you multiple dots I certainly would. Thank you for joining in the process. :)

hey Marilyn....

Just so you know, this isn't an interrogation. We are just curious about you and your experiences in the business.

Don't be shy....
But please be honest. :)

If I spelled interrogation wrong, sorry

New Member Introduction

Hello -

I just discovered this site and am anxious to learn from you all. I have a part-time, home-based buisness that I plan to evolve into more of a full-time operation when I retire in a few years.

Marilyn, I believe you started a thread a week or so ago and some questions were asked concerning your status.
Do you have business licenses? Do you have refrigeration?
Do you have any formal education, worked for a retail florist?
I believe this is the thread

Welcome, I think it is great that you found us.

We do have a certain membership qualification and the thread you srated last week still has unanswered questions. We are not trying to be mean or nosey, just making sure that the people let in for membership are qualified to be here. We a re professional florists from all areas of the floral industry.

Please answer the questions posed on the original thread that Rhnda has linked to in her post so we may get on with your qualifications. Thank you.

Marilyn,

I'm going to merge this post into the thread that I asked you to respond to.

Marilyn,

Thank you for your continued interest in our community. If you will go back and read your introduction thread, there were some good questions asked (do you have a license, pay taxes etc). Please tell us a little more about your business.

Personally, I applaud your interest in a second career. However, this forum is for professional florists (predominantly who have retail storefronts) where the hard learned and expensive industry information can be shared. Since you are part time and just starting out, I think you may be better served by visiting www.ubloom.com which is an open forum with some wonderful educational tools and webisodes (tv web shows).

Best of luck to you.

Like Amy, I don't believe this is the forum for you at this time. Please try again down the road when you are a full-fledged business.
