Some of you may be aware the 800Flowers has added Martha Stewart to their stable... with The Martha Stewart For 1-800-Flowers.com Program.
Several interesting thoughts came to me while reading the "overview" I received in todays mail. First a few things that struck me as odd, then I'll break down a few others in the catagories 800 listed them in the "overview". (some of you may have received this as well, so just humor me).
First let me commend 800 for the average price point of $69.00. (price range of $49-149.00)
Enuf of that...what are they thinking? 12 "exclusive containers" for 30 different designs! And the flowers...Ranunculus???Hydrangia???Freesia???Peony's???Callas??? are they thinking folks will stock this stuff waiting for their orders? Nice flower yes, but how many Bloomnet shops stock these ???
But wait, they're going to use both online and offline marketing channels, banner ads, email, search, tv, radio, PR and direct marketing. Oh and a "launch *event*" in NYC, and the items will be incorporated into the Marthe show...
