On Tuesday in Brownsburg, IN, there was a funeral service for Eric Medlen who died during a test run of his drag car at Gainesville Raceway. This was by far a huge event for Brownsburg Florist, Gillespies, and another local florist, simply because they are the closest and John Force Racing (the team he drove for), featured them on their site for being the closest.
Well, anyways, we are about a mile or so from Gillespies, so we landed several orders. One order was a $500 order. This is one of the biggest single arrangements I think I have ever seen come out of our shop.
The thing wasn't too heavy, about 30-35 pounds (guesstimating).
When we went to deliver our 4 arrangements (probably a little less then $800 retail). We met Gillespies' driver who was on the 2nd trip of 3. You go inside the church and there were flowers EVERYWHERE. My guess is there was over $15,000 worth of retail flowers in the church, and we were there 2 hours before the services were set to begin.
Anyways, it was the biggest thing and the most flower arrangements in a single place, that I have ever seen and I felt like sharing
