Matte or shiny paint on fern curls?

Working on a bride's bouquet for the weekend. Red roses (Prestige & Black Bacarra), ivory callas, red mokaras, and black fern curls. Should I use matte or shiny spray to paint the fern curls? I've never painted them before!

I'd probably try both and see which looks better. off the top of my head I'm thinking flat.

I with Helen... test the paint on the bottom stem of one and see what looks best..

ooooooh do you really have to spray paint them?.....I'd make some "curls" instead with black aluminum oasis wire.JMO
