hello, just checking out the site. my sister owns the flower shop and i am helping her trying to grow the business. it's hard to market and generate new sales so i thought i might learn from the site. she is ftd and teleflora and has been in business for 3 years with no online advertising or website. she is behind the times....

first research profitability of TF anf FTD. There is a link in my sig below to WS evaluation spreadsheet. It's pretty simple, but tells a big story.
2nd - get her store registered with Google, Bing and Yahoo under local business listings. You can check this out by going to Google search on "Flowers" + area of service she is in and then try with "Florist" with area she is in.
Example - Flowers Hudson, NH or florist Hudson,NH.
If she isn't listed there create and account for her ASAP.
If she is listed, check the listing and improve it.
check out flowershopnetwork for an alternate to FTD and TF.
Flowershopnetwork will furnish a site with some pretty good SEO. Not great, but a start.
If you can build the site, look at magento, which is a free online store application. There are others as well. Everyone on this board will tell you that being on the web is important. Customers except it.
