So, thanks to this forum, I'm now aware of the wires service... er... delimma. I've started refusing orders from Kay's and Just Flowers (it does get hard though, when you only have one other order that day!) and looking into things for myself.

So I get an order from FTD.com today and it's for the premium version of such-and-such bouquet for a total of 119.99. So I go and look it up online. Their price on FTD for the premium version is 119.99. Why the heck do they not send any $ for delivery???? I'm sure they charge the customer some type of handling fee. I'm sure you are all very aware of this, but being new, it's so frustrating to know that the customer is expecting premium but you only have the money for standard. :help:

I suppose I can ask for more $, which I do often. Is that what everyone else does? Or do you just bend over....

The price posted on ftd.com is all inclusive. Hence, the delivery is embedded in the *said* amount of the product and the extra service charge is theirs.

When you signed-on you agreed to these terms. But as most know, if you send an "Ask" they'll usually kick you a few extra bucks.

Yeah, they automatically figure $7 for your delivery, which in our case is not enough. Besides, if you got a premium upgrade it is usually 20-30 dollars over the standard version, so unless you delivery is that significant, their customer will get some sort of upgrade.

Are you talking about joining FTD as a member florist or signing up to receive FTD.com orders?

IIRC, in the US, no WS can demand a fixed price on any item. Independently owned stores are free to request payment for product and delivery (minus commissions & fees) at the same level they would charge local customers. Otherwise, the WSs would be guilty of price fixing.
