Just a "typical" Friday the 13th I guess....
left Dundas just after 8:30 this morning, got to our burned cottage almost 4 hours later...usually takes around 3, insurance adjuster, restoration guy, my real estate guy already there!!
ABSOLUTELY POURING rain, the sqeeters big as horses, and there we were, figuring, and measuring, and head shaking, and me sifting through black soaked mucky wood, that USED to be a cottage....looking for Sandie's FRIDGE MAGNETS...like she asked me too, and see if ANY of her highly prized gourmet cooking stuff is still intact.....nope!!
This fire was so hot, it actually melted metal, and the building guy is going to call in an engineer, to see whether the foundation is still safe to re-build on, or whether it TOO, must be ripped down!!
The bunkie beside, is pretty much toast, and the mother robin, that was nesting just outside one of our windows, has abandoned her nest...left her eggs behind.
Only ONE tree looks like it is not savable, though, it may take some time to tell, and yet, our waterbed frame, is still pretty much intact...go figure!!
It's just a plain mess. then I came home!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY you Geminis!!
Mike
