WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Oct 14, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- United Online, Inc. (Nasdaq: UNTD), a leading provider of consumer products and services over the Internet, announced today that Robert S. Apatoff, 50, has been appointed President of the company's FTD Group, Inc. ...
My replacement has been found! A great guy, former FTD Board Member and I will no longer be running FTD as of November 3rd. Thanks to everyone for so much along the way, I am very happy to have found such a great person to replace me and to be moving on. Headed to the beach for the winter, hope to see you all real soon. Mike.

I was kinda hoping him and Bobbie would ride away into the sunset together hugging their millions that they took from the floral industry.

My thoughts EXACTELY!

I was kinda hoping him and Bobbie would ride away into the sunset together hugging their millions that they took from the floral industry.

Let mee SEE HEAR ANDY!

small bob drove off into the sunset on his HOG after DOO-ING DA FLORISTS, took his millions, and opened up a BIG HOG dealership.

As to mike, he probably has accumulated enough money now, to BUY THAT BEACH and live on it for the rest of his life.

Amazing how much money they amassed from the BLOOD, SWEAT, and TEARS, of DA MEMBERS, and without contributing one thing back to them, other than HIGHER DUES and MO NEWER FEES.

And so, while little dick promised all of us that, he was in it for the LONG HAUL, it's been flipped twice since 1994, and I suspect, things will get even bigger and better with the NEW and IMPROVED version.

Yo Roscoe....

Remember it was the florists that prostituted themselves...no body held a gun to our heads...we be stooooopid!

No I'm not defending them, just stating facts...like you john, anyone could have left anytime they wanted to.

Dancing..dancing..I will be dancing in the street...what a ballbuster to state he is headed to the beach....I cannot post my true feelings as it would be a page of %^&*)()_&^$@!...Toto thinks Bob was bad...cripes we would have been better off with him than this twerp...but then again, in his own words..'We have the dumbest group of clients in any industry"...
Gotta run..have to chum the waters for him..hopefully he is coming south..."here sharkie..here sharkie I have a treat for ya!".....

Now BOSS, remember WHY we had to sell FTDA!

Yo Roscoe....

Remember it was the florists that prostituted themselves...no body held a gun to our heads...we be stooooopid!

No I'm not defending them, just stating facts...like you john, anyone could have left anytime they wanted to.

As to HISTORY, we were only FORCED to SELL FTDA because the GOVERNANCE of the OLD FTDA refused to GIVE UP THEIR PIRCS. The board of directors just liked their PER DIEMS so much, not to mention the $200K credit card expenditures which were granted to DA PRESIDENT'S as well as the CHAIRMEN'S of DA BOARD.

That was all in addition to whatever else they could write off!

Remember too that, the white hats on our old FTDA board, to include Cathy Hickman, our last REAL FLORIST FRIENDLY FTDA President, fought long and hard and till the 11th hour, to convince those folks that, in order for FTDA to survive, they must give up their old form of governance, and in favor of a FULL TIME CEO to run FTDA, rather than a PART TIME group of florists, who could no longer make the cut.

When they REFUSED to do the RIGHT THING for THEIR OWN MEMBERS, we were left with no other choice other than to TRUST IN the PERRY PARTNERSHIP. Sadly, we were duped by little dick as he flat out LIED to the FTDA FAMILY, and turned out to be just another BUY IT UP, CHOP IT UP, and FLIP IT, wall street banker with no LONG TERM INTERESTS, other than HIS OWN and HIS INVESTORS!

If I had it to do all over again, I would've voted NO to the sale of FTDA!

Facts be known, and in retrospect, what the OLD FTDA BOARD and the OFFICERS gleaned from our members, turned out to be CHUMP CHANGE in comparison to what DA FLIPPERS and their CEO'S have managed to SUCK from these NEWER FORE PROFIT COMPANY VENTURES.

Not withstanding those facts, and the history as it bee, I still wonder just why it is, you still keep hanging on to WHAT ONCE WAS versus WHAT IS?

That's a rhetorical question, and so, no need to answer other than, you are, like many others, STUCK IN A PLACE you really don't wanna bee!

Sher, can you cut to the chase, and tell us how you REALLY FEEL??.....:>

Wow, Erelene, what a great article. The only question I have is what will he have to preside over if the present rate of florists leaving FTD continues. It seems florists are leaving FTD faster than investors leaving WaMu.

I have a vision!

This could be the last chance for change in this industry lets hope this guy has a defferent vision then the last two

He will Steve, he will want to up the package he gets when he leaves to 10 billion. That's the American dream.

Prior to that, Mr. Apatoff served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rand McNally & Company where he engineered a financial turnaround and completed the successful sale of the company to Patriarch Partners, LLC in December 2007.

ding, ding, ding we have a winner.

Maybe now we'll see the end of the $35.00 total/I want to be Proflowers mentality!!!
One can always hope....

I'm hoping for newer better cookie cutters.

and I'm not kidding.
