Have not heard a Beep from you on the subject and was wondering if any new things have developed since we saw each other last week.

FTD wants to sponsor a show this fall up north...
THey want it bad.

BEEP......regarding Retrans...

there appears to be no motivation in florist land to do ANYTHING about this Retrans issue!
I asked for volunteers to help get a mailing out to every single FTD florist they knew...all each florist "in the know", would have to do is send out 20 mailings each.
IF I could have gotten maybe 50 responses of help, this issue would move forward to the next level.
I got ZERO responses...ZERO, I can't believe it!
Luc, in EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE, where FTD was asked and accepted requests for financial, and conference type aid, they've come through EACH and EVERY TIME!!
Frank is especially interested in the well being of his Canadian FTD members, within his mandate, and has ALWAYS, ALWAYS offered ANY and ALL support when it comes to things that we organize and do...so, I'd say, take FTD's offer, it's genuine.
I remember many times where FTD and our FBC's footed the entire bills for florist functions, whether they were FTD or not, and I VIVIDLY remember Frank and his crew doing MOST of the work, for a supposedly TF sponsored function!
Luc, accept their offer to help up north...they do it everywhere else as well!!

It's a wonder how WE FLORISTS stay up on things...well don't loose sleep over this issue at least WE CHATIES know what is happening and I'm not even a WS Member anymore since I got KICKED for speaking out.

50 members x 20 only equals to 1000. Are you thinking only Ontario members for this mast mailing and I never heard you ask for this type of response. I am willing to spend 20 enveloppes or more to get the word out. ALL I need would be a letter written with the information and I can do somemailings. I am not good at writting.

I think the big concern with your request was the potential for legal action by FTD. Whether or not they are right isn't the issue - it's whether florists can pay to defend themselves if we are sued by FTD for slander. These letters would have to be VERY carefully written and avoid any accusatory language. Stick to solid, verified facts and we can proceed.
