Anyone know the name of the plant that resembles a miniature palm. I need it to be about 6-8" tall. Source?

I remember a design from Florist's Review that used something similar, but is it small enough?

I will be using the palms to make miniature landscapes in greenhouses purchased by a bride for centerpieces. (This is a very cool Bride's idea because they are getting married in the Palm House at the Conservatory).

If you're going for a trunk palm - how about taking a small Dracena Warneckii or Marginata (I know I spelled that wrong) and stripping all the leaves off, except the top 6-8.

If you'r going for the bushy type palm, the mini arecas would be great - you might be able to divide them even smaller if you needed.

You can purchase either though whoever plants your ready-made dish gardens.

Sounds like a fun project!

thanks

Sending brownie points your way, thanks Lorrie, Tracy and Alldayforplay!

I'm just a bit nervous about this, because the houses are a bit on the small side. I want to elevate them a bit with a base covered with leaves. The wedding is in March, so I have a little time to make a sample.

Thanks again for the great suggestions.
