I don't currently have a website address

I've been in the floral business for 3 years.

I don't have any formal floral education but I do have my degree in graphic design/illustration.

I was looking for a forum for florists on the web that had a larger American membership and happened upon this place.

I hope to stay abreast of new trends here.

I have a ton of business management, merchandising, and design (both floral and graphic) knowledge that I hope to share here.

I'm in a commercial building.

What is your "job"? Are you a full service florist or are you in a grocery store? (the name is very similar to a grocery here)
If you have no formal training, do you have employees who have design experience?

We are a full service florist in a grocery store. The store was founded by the Walkers (a husband and wife team). The husband took care of the grocery store, the wife ran the floral department. It was the second floral shop to open in the area. About 8 years ago the store (formally Walkers) was bought by County Market and the flower shop has continued. Even though we are a grocery florist we still have good relations with the other shops in the area. We do weddings, funerals, special events, everyday arrangements, and silk just like every other shop. We also buy our flowers from the same wholesalers as the other shops in town (ie. Air Conditioned Roses, Dorans Direct, Roy Houff).

Two of my employees worked at Mattoon Flower Shop for several years and one of the women I use helped manage my shop until it was bought by County Market. I tend to do most of the designs now though. My official position is floral manager.
