I am working on a project... and I find myself needing to know what the most popular flowers are for use on wrist corsages. What do you all find to be most requested?

THANKS!!

Spray roses 1st, Mini carnations 2nd, Dendrobs 3rd, mixed (alstro, sprays, fill) 4th

dendrobium orchids 1st, spray roses 2nd, mini carns 3rd
this is only because I like to sell the dendrobs as they weigh less on the bracelet.
When I wore a wrist corsage I found the spray roses and minis were heavier and the bracelets tended to shift around.

firstly i suggest to them rather than them to me. I use small roses with spray roses on most of them and then accessorise with other bits and pieces.

My favorites are all and any orchids, spray roses, gerberas, alstro, kermit mums, all fillers....oh yeah and they always request roses because that is all Melrose florists ever had to offer and always white with their choice of ribbon...yay such exciting corsages for our future brides and customers, its no wonder when the brides come in they are blinded by the choices they have...

We sell a lot of orchids. Standard cymbids would be at the top of the list, minis next, then dendrobiums. We occasionally use sweethearts too

I would say most asked for is roses... White rose.. :(
We are starting to think outside the box.. My motto is "Step out of the Ordinary" With a picture of a shoe with an orchid.
I am getting a following that will bring in their dresses and just let us use our imagination.
NO babys breath, but other fillers are used. Getting them interested in orchids and other types of flowers.

White roses? Oh no, oh no, oh no!!

This kind of ties in with Paula's thread on trying to make flowers sexy to the younger generation.

Lets make white roses illegal for proms, how about that? :) Just kidding. I am sure they have their place. They just make me think of Martha...

White roses or white dendro plus ribbon to match the dress. The boys and their moms (often without the boy) do much of the ordering and they tend to play it v-e-r-y safe. If I can get the girl in, I can sell something more interesting usually, but that doesn't happen as often as I would like.

Thats one of the things Cory talks about in the Fitz classes - he goes to the schools and explains to the girls what will happen if ordering the corsages is left up to the boys and their moms - exactly what you describe. It horrifys the girls and gets them into the florists themselves - which in turn means fancier and more exciting corsages get ordered. But that only works if you have an avenue to talk to the girls in the first place...
