I think my dad was the first ever to use styro... back in 1946, it was a waste byproduct (if I remember right) from Dow Chemical, here in Midland and they brought some around to see if he could think of a way to use it...

I have some pics here someplace when he was 18 (he'll be 80 next March) of him making a spray with flowers into dry white foam...LOL...
